Repetitive gameplay loops is kind of how racing games work..? I can’t really think of any racing games which don’t work that way?

Those cops in NFS Heat were insane! And these cops sound awfully similar. That 0-200mph in a second or two thing is infuriating.

I’m actually glad money has actual worth. It feels like I really earn a car and take more ‘pride’ in my customization.

I love this game. It really caught me by surprise.

Some incorrect things in this:

-Cops will chase you if you hit them at heat zero. Maybe not in easy?

-Cops don’t just focus on you during races. It’s contingent on where you are relative to their station position. If you’re too far behind or boost well past before they begin, they focus on the CPU.

Most accurate review I’ve seen (aside from the 7 score after the mediocre description). This game is bizarrely getting a lot of great reviews from corporate YT sites. Pretty weird.

Can the cutscenes, tutorials and "you've unlocked this useless thing!!" videos be skipped? They were a pain in the ass in hot pursuit (the last criterion game I've played).

rewards are too damn low
once i realized i had to win like 100 races for 1, 000 each just to get a decent A rank car, i got bored
cus after a rank you need an A+ rank or s or s+ rank car and the grind is just too slow and not fun

nice review! :) Did not know this was releasing so soon.I am not a big racer guy but I loved underground on ps2 and f zero gx on gamecube. Would like a new racing game as a change of pace and my ps5 has been sitting there waiting for me :)

I really dislike the fact that this is "next gen" only and I see nothing here that couldn't easily run on PS4 and I really dislike the comic book and anime style and effects...

Thankfully you can turn off the effects in actual gameplay and it looks a lot better without them, though I'd say that doesn't get rid of the silly anime characters and cut scenes! 😯😂 ...

I loved NFS 2015 and wanted more of that, but unfortunately it didn't get any expansions or direct sequels, while of course Payback was a bad joke, barely worth mentioning! 😯😂 ...

I really tried to like Heat, but it turned out to be a very shallow and frustrating experience!

In particular its' story while good was SO short and it suddenly when it had a hell of a lot more to do and once it ended there was little reason to play the game...

While its' day/night system was intriguing initially, the fact that you had so few repairs and needed to earn high heat levels to unlock the best parts against its' completely broken and cheating cops almost completely ruined the game for me!

The fact that you could barely "have fun" with the cops without getting busted was another major failing in the game - in other entries in the series such as NFS 2015 in particular, the cops have to physically pin or wreck your car, but they can bust you when you're still moving in Heat if you're playing with them and not going flat out! 😯😂🩲

So while the style, story and characters in this game look pretty terrible, the actual gameplay and event structure looks a lot better than Heat!

In the unlikely event that poor sales due to this being "next gen" only, prompting a "last gen" release, hopefully the cheaty NPC instants are sorted out by the time most of us actually have "next gen" consoles!! 😯😂😀🤘.
