Found my co founder whilst in University. Universities are pretty much one of the best places you can start a startup, not only can you easily find a co founder but you also have access to free resources such as the internet, mail and "office space" (dorm rooms). Moreover, you get to have access to a market that you can easily penetrant to evaluate your service.

However, one must be careful when choosing co founders. Not everyone is a serious person and you might find yourself doing most of the work. So it's best to always right down who does what and make sure you vest your equity and don't hand it out carelessly.

Our founder story
I was a manager for a Starbucks and my (now) Cofounder was a regular customer who spent more hours in there than me haha.
One night, he tipped us a large amount, stating that we made him feel like he was welcomed here and how much it meant to him. It was an incredibly generous and genuine display of his character, so I followed up by asking more about what his was working on.

He told me "A video game on mobile that lets you workout to get stronger in-game" and I was immediately sold on contributing any feedback/advice I could.
I started spending my 30 minute lunches with him and found that I had a quite a lot of great advice to help him improve in certain areas of the product/company with my business/sales background and high-touch-empathy for others (users).

After a few weeks lunch breaks, 15 min breaks and even coming in early became our regular work time (I often wouldn't even get to finish my food haha!) he asked me if I would be interested in joining him as his Cofounder. I eagerly accepted and reduced my Starbucks hours to 30, while working 30-40 with him anywhere/anytime I could.
In October of last year I finally made the plunge and left Starbucks, pay, health insurance and much else behind to make it a reality.

I couldn't be happier in the progress we've made and the traction our product has gathered and I know it's because he and I are a perfect compliment to one another, supporting the weaknesses that we openly admit/point out and sharing an honest, supportive and dedicated relationship. He and I were both already married when we met, but the cofounder relationship is so similar to the qualities, responsibilities and communication that a marriage requires to be successful, and I think that's a sign of a perfect fit.

Lets say I have an idea, nothing physical. If i want to tell someone what it is, how do I go about it so they don't steal my idea and run?

I’ve been a lone founder for over 10 years. I’m afraid I can no longer be called a startup and I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to find a partner. :( I’ve looked too, but lately it’s been a lot harder to do because I do so much, I can’t keep in contact with people well enough to get anyone to know or like me. :( Plus being alone can make you weird and I’m sure I’m that :/

Do you think it's necessary to worry about paying a co-founder or anyone who will work with you when you are starting out and have no funds yet?

Thanks for this video! I’m wondering do you make potential cofounders sign NDAs? It seems like the cons outweigh the pros in terms of practicality. Thx

Is that Discord channel set to private or dead? The link goes to a blank "nothing here" page.

I check all your referred web site - they all are terrible, and it is hard just to register. I was hoping for something better - very surprised.

Love the video and the tips there! Your style is as you say "no filter". That's the best feedback IMHO. I am curious, would you be willing to check out my startup and share a few pearls of wisdom?
