I was contemplating a 3rd Eric Johnson strat yesterday evening when I saw one of these on the wall of Motor City Guitar tagged as "used" the sunburst finish. I looked at the headstock and thought... huh... that looks kinda sharp... picked it up, plugged into a fender 68 custom deluxe reverb, noodled for about 75 seconds before putting the EJ back on the wall and walked out with both the rosewood strat and the 68 reverb.

I have this in sunburst. Been playing it since 2014. AWESOME axe.
I did hotrod it a little. I put rosewood knobs on and changed the stock plastic to white shell. And I installed a mini switch that will let me turn the bridge pup on at any time. And I changed the bridge saddles to saddles from a Strat Plus. I didn't like the stock saddles AT ALL. Other than those minor changes, it is stock.
This axe has been an awesome addition to my equipment list. Perfect sound for my playing style. The middle pup is absolutely electrifying. If I run it through a good compressor, I can get some awesome country chicken pickin' tones too.
To be quite honest, I am really surprised that these limited edition strats aren't more in demand. They are One of the fastest necks that I have ever had my hands on. Just a little lemon oil will keep it looking and feeling great. Treat it exactly like you would treat a rosewood fretboard.
I run mine through a tuner 1st, then a TC Spark. Then one of two Dyna Comp compressors, depending on the song. Then either through a TS808 or a Fulltone OCD. Then through a MXR Carbon Copy digital delay, and finally out through a TC Hall of Fame Reverb.
I have 2 amps that sound really nice with this limited edition Fender Princeton Reverb and a Bugera V22 with about $250 in tube upgrades. I actually like it best through the Bugera.
One of my favorite OD pedals to run this axe through is a cheapo I found on X-Drive OD-8. Excellent overdriven speaker sound for music from the early days of Rock and Roll.
If you happen to stumble across one of these Guitar Center Limited Edition Fender US Strats from around 2015, with the Fat 50's pups, give it a whirl. I bet you'll love it!

Played one on a whim at Guitar Center-- then picked up the John Mayer sig model, played it for a few mins, and put it back down.  I bought one of these in blue.  I was playing it through a H&K Tubemeister 18 on the 5 watt setting-- and it sounded amazing.  So amazing that I was getting compliments from other customers on my playing-- and that never happens.  I'm pretty sure it was this guitar and the Tubemeister at work there, but hey, I'll take it!

I just bought this guitar yesterday, what a beautiful sounding/feeling guitar! No regrets, and I love the unique look it carries! Well done Fender!

I bought one of these bad boys yesterday in the 3 tone sunburst, it's one heck of guitar that has a tone like no other Strat that I've ever played.

I got the same faded one. New. Most amazing/comfortable guitar i've ever played. If you're thinking about buying one just do it. This is a limited edition, rosewood fingerboards are sought after. First time and last they will make these and are only going to become extinct in the future. So the value? +++ Just like the models in the 50's-60's you wished you would have bought. This plays alot better in my opinion as well.

Love the look... Must be a pain cleaning that fretboard. Nice organic grains, fender on another level.
