2016 World Wood Day Concert - Dhuniya & Kathak Dance (Nepal)

This performance is a group dance based on the sound and beat of Dhime. A traditional Newari music accompanies with the Dhuniya. A tradition using a long bamboo pole that often performs in regional celebrations like Newari New Year and Indra Jatra. The dance is a fusion of Newari dance and Indian dance call Kathak. This performance is a collaborative effort of accomplished artists and musicians within the Kathmandu Valley.
