Thank you! I got mine at a yard sale so it had no instructions, and I wanted to make sure I was watering properly.

You're the only video that actually touches fairly on the concept of the water level indicator... good... but still not a complete helpful sequence of watering and waiting... But then I'm not sure if even Keter knows how it works.... judging by their own vague, useless instructions! Their latest design (bought at Costco) is best with 8 soil-filled dips in the soil compartment's bottom, sitting in the reservoir water to wick that water into the main planter soil. SO, THE BIG KETER SECRET, SIMPLY PUT: 1) Water only by pouring into the tapered top of the dual purpose indicator/filler tube, (thereby filling the reservoir underneath). 2) Stop filling when the red portion of the indicator "stem" rises even with the "brim" of the indicator/filler tube (indicating the reservoir is topped up). 3) For the next days the reservoir water will wick up into the soil, automatically irrigating your plants, (and the indicator "plant" slowly drops in its tube). 4) When the indicator plant's top drops flush or slightly below the tube brim (the reservoir is now empty), wait a day or two and then go back to step (1)

I bought two of these and am just setting them up now. Was unsure of the watering system in them, so thank you.

Thanks for the video! We got 3 of the Keter planters from friends who got them from someone else and there were no instructions. Really appreciate the information and the video is very nicely done.

I didn't see you demo anything on the watering system and how the leaf float works.

Thanks for your detailed post & video. I had seen this at Sam's Club ($89.99 in my area) & been thinking about buying it.
The last time I did garden too busy & it got away from me & ended up wasting a lot. I thought this might be the way to go.
Your video helps liked that you show the setup as well.

Costco sells these in Canada at around $99.00. It is a GREAT product. But WHY or Why wouldn't there be the option of having a protective LID on it that has a hinge like a VegePod system.... ? Then one can plant earlier in the season and it would protect the young seedlings from wind, colder weather .... etc ... I would pay more in a minute for a hinged lid. (and it doesn't even hafta have a hinge.. simply lift off and then put back on at night time ....

$59.95 at Home Depot June 1, 2020. I've seen the same item for over $100 elsewhere. He's right, it is easy to assemble.

Thanks so much for this helpful video! I'm a little confused on the soil because it looks like you used raised bed in the video but recommend using potting soil instead (both in the text in the video and in the comments below). Which one do you recommend? Also, did you just add the same type of soil to the top of the garden after planting? The mix looks a little different but may just be sun and time. Thank you!

Hey, very informative video. Do you add the water before or after you put in the soil?

jaceannanderson

How do you add the water? Just water like regular and some water will stay on the bottom?

When should you drain it? Mine is all the way up 😕

Does it self drain / overflow if it gets too full?
