Fixing a busted RG350! Complete device refresh.

I recently had an opportunity to take somebody's RG350 and give it an internal makeover! Someone on the RG350 subreddit had asked for help in getting their device up and running again after several months of frustration. So I took the project onboard and also filmed the entire process so you could see all the tricks I used to get everything back into tip-top shape.

You should make a 350 download pack like the smokemonster packs. No roms of course, but a zip that has the directory structure pre-done and the config files already edited so people can add their own roms and be all set.

Hey lad. Great rebuild. I've done the same rebuild myself many, many times on my own 350. I've found that the HDMI sound output is directly related to the HDMI spec on your target display device. Set your HDMI input on your display device to HDMI 1.4 specification and not HDMI 2.0 spec. That should resolve most everyone's sound issues assuming the rg350 had been setup with the correct firmware iteration and your display meets the HDMI 1.4 spec. Cheers.

So, no idea if you would ever read this, but any idea around making the left analog work for PCSX4All? Tried every video and can make it work on my RG350M. What is odd is it works fine on my RG350…which thank you for all of your videos to help set those handhelds up.

If i remove the external micro sd and refresh the console to regular instead of rougue, could i just put in the memory card after the switch and still play my games normally?
Because i honestly don't like rougue either, i feel like its so limited. Haven't used my rg350 over 2 years because of this lol i have a gpd xd bit i want a windows device like gpd win 4.
Your videos helped me out with this when i first got it also.
Can't u just reboot and then update over wifi?

Do you have a video showing how to recover the Anbernic rg405m? I made a hug mistake somewhere trying to install Gamma OS. Obviously I am a noob 😫 and now my device is flashing on and off and it cannot be turned off.

Russ! Wow! That’s all I’m saying throughout the whole video . You do such an incredible job on your videos . I’m in the same situation . I was uploading a rom through FTP and accidentally moved the wrong files around. Now my emulators are gone and also my ports. Completely screwed up my RG350M. It’s unplayable so I need to reflash it. I don’t have the time, patience or tech savvy enough to make it happen. You should def make some kind of basic file for people like me in the same situation. Especially all emulators added. You should add a donate button. I def would be willing to donate or buy a beer to show my gratitude for such a file. I’m thinking of just selling it and wait for a later version if I can’t fix this problem . I really want to play Dreamcast and psp but don’t want to sacrifice a smaller screen of the 351p and a metal version . So we will see. Thanks once again !

I find it a bit interesting that you used apps to expand the partition and reformat the card to FAT32 when both can be done within windows.

I've bought a Rg351m and it doesn't boot system failure booting fail check or something can someone explain me what I have to do before it wanted me to insert a SD card and I did and after that it shuts down I think it's because of the firmware or anything right? Maybe because that's why it can't boot and always shuts down even with or without the SD card inserted but I haven't opened up my consoles back yet.

I followed all this but the Update firmware app doesn't appear on my rg350. also my rg350 still cuts off and on randomly and doesn't read the external sd card that formatted for it.

My rg350 battery has died. Do you have any suggestions as what I can use.
