RG-350 Screen Replacement: Original RG350 with a bad display replaced and upgraded for a WTT viewer!

In this video, I'll attempt to perform a screen replacement for a WTT Subscriber. I'm no expert on this kind of repair but hopefully it will be helpful to those that are having similar issues. I've seen a few posts in recent weeks where folks have had display issues and hopefully this video can help. This unit was received from a WTT subscriber for a donation to the channel. Instead, I decided to fix it and return it.

Considering an RG-350? I highly recommend the RG-350M from TomTop here (~$110 USD):

*NOTE: I don't do this kind of work normally, there may be mistakes that were made. I like making YouTube videos to help others solve problems such as this one.

Need to try this myself, I think my screen was defective, but I'm sure I'm not getting a replacement... Costly to buy another, so hopefully this may work for mine. Awesome work, and thanks for the help in all you do!

Been waiting for this - good to see the method of getting the screen out. As I mentioned in my email the other day, I'm doing the upgrade to the higher resolution screen (effectively making a plastic RG350 into an RG350M.) I'm more than comfortable stripping things down and wrangling SD card content, but not knowing what glue was used on the screen was a bit of a show stopper...

Five months later.... FINALLY did a screen change on my RG350, i think the outer screen cracked a bit during the switch, i have a decent screen protector on it, which may be why the 2 cracks did not proceed far, thinking about removing the screen protector, putting it on the new anbernic replacement screen cover but not just yet.
Totally forgot i upgraded to adam 1.3... i think it was... when the screen went bust. never configured it, like modifying the PS1 and Sega CD games to only show the .bin image... or is it .cue image.... so that EVERY file does not show, and the unit freezes when in the computers section switching between intellvision and another system, it just says "loading" Foe-evah... =(
Still, THANK YOU Wagner's TechTalk for being, like... the only person that does a screen replacement as opposed to the 640 upgrade! =D

My display just went on my orange and black RG350, it happened after pulling out and reinserting the external micro SD card twice the other day, the second time the screen took on slight pixelation, slight green hues and slight bleeding of previous screens into gameplay screen. was running ADAM 1.2 (fresh install a month ago, worked great till now) then flashed ADAM 1.3 to see if it fixed it, the screen remained the same and slowly, progressively through the day it got worse and worse. I let the battery run out over the night, as someone suggested then plugged it in to recharge this morning... screen is COMPLETELY fugged. massive bleeding from various screens can be seen on the screen at one time, unplayable. I even unplugged the ribbon cable... no change. Though, ADAM 1.3 does have HDMI out, while audio currently comes from the RG350 and not the external monitor AND some video during OS and menu operations are a bit jittery, during gameplay on the external monitor the video looks very very good.
EDIT: good video! I was a little surprised as other videos they remove the outer screen, dremel some casing off, and apply new adhesive to the new monitor, but it was a fast, easy and clean monitor replacement, I obviously NEED and new screen otherwise i can only use it with the HDMI on my monitor, but, that's what my laptop and Pi3b+ in the NesPi Case+ are for. I'm just not sure whether or not to go with a 640x480 or a 320x240 as some text in various console's games were difficult to read with it's native monitor.

how do you avoid dust getting between the new screen and the lens? and do you need any adhesive to stick the new screen in?

Can you put a proper 4:3 screen into a 351 m/p? Love the device, but that screen resolution is not exactly ideal being 3:2

I’ve recently turned my RG350 on after a while of not using it and it now has lines up and down the screen. Will I need to replace the screen or is there something else that can be done?

But the retro a b x y buttons changed to the square and circle ⭕ and triangle with plus styles buttons and the instructions for the rg are in the a b x y language
