Driveshaft, Universal & Constant Velocity Joint Training Module Trailer

Although drive shafts appear to be fairly simple, they are in fact finely-tuned pieces of engineering, which play a very important role in the transfer of engine torque to the wheels. This course will explore the operation of propeller-type drive shafts, as well as universal and constant velocity (CV) joints.

A mechanic found a major crack next to one of the barrings in my trucks Drive Shaft. So here I am learning more about drive shafts as I await a replace shaft getting modified.

I still don't understand why it's called a "Constant Velocity Joint, " how does this allow a car to vary velocity, depending on driving situations? Or is it called so simply because each CV joint will rotate at the same velocity at any point in time, keeping in mind that a car will have a total of 4 CV joints, 1 CV joint per drive wheel or simple wheel? Can anyone who knows please help me understand this concept?
