This video is the tale of the Greek Goddess Athena.
Told by the Goddess herself, to an old Athenian woman, Pylia.
Pylia at the end of her life is beginning to doubt her faith in Athena, and the nature of the goddess herself.
Athena tells the tales of the mortals about her and tells Pylia of her perspective.
How she viewed the events of her life, and who she is as a goddess...
These are the confessions of Athena.

Living Mythology is an attempt to entertain, relax and educate all in the one place. We are trying to forge narratives so that people can experience the religions and mythologies of the world as they were meant to be. Not as dry academic monoliths, but as living breathing tales and parables as experienced by the peoples who worshipped these beings, in an attempt to make sense of their own lives and the world around them.

This channel is in its infancy, so we hope to improve and develop it as we gain more experience.

All of the tales are taken from very conflicting traditions across many centuries, so there will be many a moment when decisions need to be made to create a more cohesive narrative. If we present something that seems to be in contrast to details, rest assured we have researched many forms of the traditions and come to the conclusions we have done to form the videos.
There will NEVER be total agreement on any of these narratives due to the history and differing ways they developed over the centuries.

She was so revered by the Greeks that the Roman and Ovid in particular made myths with her in a bad light to spoil her reputation cause they favored Mars above Minerva.

Love how Athena says some of her kin may be quick to anger or other feelings, not being observant. That’s so a perfect understanding of the character Athena, she’s the goddess of wisdom, wisdom is achieved through understanding and observing, to perceive. It’s why I love in dnd for example perception is tied to one’s wisdom. To be wise one must grow to see the entirety of the issue and then react to it

Having dwelled in her city when I was a child. I find that this is truly a reflection of the goddess. Wisdom often is hard, hash mysterious and powerful. Its price is often an aloneness an alien in the midst of others. Its embodiment is this goddess and I know her well. This was a joy on a long night of many days working with little rest. Thank you for the respite of some quiet time to dwell inside and reflect upon the journey.
