This is how I always imagined this piece. The left-hand semi-q's are more a brooding atmosphere underpinning the haunting melody than filigree virtuosity for its own sake. Enjoyed this immensely.

I think it's refreshing to hear Scriabin not played as if the pianist was off to a fire. Yes, this is a fast and hard piece, but he manages to let us hear more to all of the notes. Wonderful! Thanks and best

Trifonov is doubtless one of the best pianists of today

1:58 I always think he stands up from sheer emotion in this part

This interpretation by Trifonov, literally gives me chills, the virtuoso velocity in the melodic contours is nothing less than simply a genius pinnacle of art.

I can't stop listening to this. And YouTube keeps recommending this in my homepage and I always click on this.

He brings something new and thoughtful to everything he plays. Bravo, Daniil!

it’s so refreshing to see classical music performed by someone in casual clothes

Finally an intepretation that is not played too quickly! And the clean sound in the 2nd part of the beginning is marvellous.

Trifonov my favourite pianist since 2010 🙏🏻 He has something special, the depth only a musically obsessed can feel.

I've never seen and heard a musician who can so totally give himself over to the music - Daniil for the duration IS the Etude.

So ahead of his time— a quarantine beard but in 2019

Why does Trifonov look different every time I see him

He understands Scriabin and knows how to perform this music.

Finally a young pianist that doesn't make unnecessary movements and exaggerated facial expressions. Also, I like how he's dressed 🙌

j'ai l'habitude de voir les musiciens bien vetus mais là c'est surprenant de le voir mais j'aime beaucoup sa tenue car ce qui compte c'est son interprétation magnifique

This interpretation is special to say the least. This etude is a complex one with many moving parts and laters passing through eachother.

Kissin's interpretation for example is very coherent, moving as one, and Horowitz's is transparent and crisp, opening up the layers of rhythm and harmony...

This guy has something beyond anything ive heard. There is a depth here that is genuinely unreal, the push and pull in styles and control over the various textures. I have no idea how its humanly possible, but its the most human thing someone could conceive of.

This is great...perhaps his next recording can be an all-Scriabin album? Would anyone else love to hear him do Sonata #5?

One of my favorite pieces by Scriabin so I've heard many play it. This is the first in awhile that has brought me to a full stop. Wow.
