How to Set Up Voicemail on iPhone and Android (Any Carrier)

How to Set Up Voicemail on iPhone:
1. Open the phone app and tap "voicemail" in the bottom right
2. Tap "Set Up" in the middle of the screen
3. Create a 4 to 6 digit voicemail PIN
4. Re-enter your PIN to confirm it
5. Choose either the Default greeting or record a Custom greeting
6. Tap "Done" in the top right

How to Set Up Voicemail on Android
1. Open the phone app and dial your own phone number
2. Select your preferred language (press "1" for English and "2" for Español) and press "#" to confirm your selection
3. Create a 4 to 6 digit voicemail PIN and press "#" to enter it
4. Re-enter your PIN to confirm it, then press "#"
5. Choose your greeting. Press "1" to record a custom greeting and "2" to use a standard greeting that will just read your phone number
6. If you chose to set a custom greeting, record it after the tone and press "#" when you're finished
7. You will hear your custom greeting played back for you. If you're satisfied with your greeting, press "#" to confirm
8. Your mailbox is setup!

Finally I figured it out. Not only did I have to use at least 7 digits on my Android but I had to go faster. I found out I couldn't hesitate on anything when doing this. So it took me several tries even with the 7 digits before I got fast enough and that did the trick.
