I go to Walt Disney World every month because I’m a passholder and there are none of those machines there at any of the parks. this has to be only at Disneyland.

They used to have a bunch of them on main street, on the left . They had their own building. They mustve turned it into another souvenir shop. It was always busy and fun too.

When pirates was first put in Disneyland, the store at the end of the ride was great. It gave out postcards of the pirates on the ride. I love them. They weren’t around very long though.

Growing up 10 miles away from Disneyland, I've been to Disneyland hundreds of times. A lot of people in my life had passes so we went at least once a week. It was a tradition of my friends that we would hide change in one of the candlestick holders in The Haunted Mansion just as you enter the stretch room. We would take the change that was there and then put the amount back that equaled the day of the month you are there now (5th day of the month gets 5 cents put back on the candlestick, etc).

Another tradition we had was to get a pressed penny and hide it somewhere in the park.

We used to take penies and quarters for those machines that deform the pennies into park art, but now you can use you credit card

I used to work at Disney World and have never seen these. Pretty sure this is just at Disneyland.

Red used to give out solid metal pieces of eight key chains back in the early 90s and you could punch your name or some very short message into them. I worked at the park and he would break down reportedly, so there were lots of refunds. I was able to get a few coins from him and still have a couple. The little fortune he gives out now seems like a bit of a ripoff from his glory days.

I know it’s not Disney, but I’ve got a flattened penny of T-Rex from Universal Studios that I got when I was 10 that I keep in my wallet. I’m 35 now.
