I stumble across your videos every once in a while and I always find it fascinating how often I read the title of one of your videos and proceed to have identical thoughts as yours on the topic. We both look at and listen to music in a very similar way, which is cool as people in my life find it quite strange sometimes how much I obsess over certain songs and albums. One more thing that appeals to me about concept albums is how often they are based on epics or have a dramatic theme, kind of like the illiad and the odyssey or even stories from the bible.

I almost never read lyrics, but I still enjoy concept albums on a purely sonic level because they add a cohesiveness to the sound of the album, from musical callbacks in the form of leitmotifs, or setting a certain atmosphere, concept albums more than any other, lend themselves to these types of ideas and they tend to elevate the music for me.

Btw I gotta ask, do you know of The Dear Hunter? That's a group similar to Coheed where their albums are concept albums telling different parts of the same story.

I love concept albums, love this video because it is how I felt without knowing it.
There is a band called Dog Fashion Disco which (as far as I’m aware) didn’t put out concept albums but an author turned them into concept albums, which makes me appreciate them more.
Would love to hear your opinions on that way of developing a concept (as well as some more BTBAM, Vaxis 2, and some Devin Townsend!

An interesting topic! My favorite concept album is The Resurrection Band's "The Lament" which was produced by Ty Tabor of King's X. The Resurrection Band was so committed to the conceptual presentation of this album that the would perform the album, in order, from beginning to end, while on this tour. I hope this will lead to your doing a video presenting your favorite concept albums.

2 of my favorite concept albums are the House of Gold and Bones Part 1 and 2 by Stone Sour. Stupendous albums, songs, writing, story and vibe they create of this dingy feeling that character is going through. Love those 2 and would love to know some more awesome concept albums
