While I appreciate the time it took to make the video, this isn't really "everything you need to know."
Most of the video is just you reading out/explaining what each of the Keepsakes do, however it misses a lot of important information. Boons no longer keep the effect after being switched out, so if you're using Thanatos' keepsake, you need it on for the full run to get it's full effect. (Why build an extra 30% damage just to lose it before the final fight?)
Likewise, Lucky Tooth is great but it becomes the last Death Defiance to be used, so unless you're out of Death Defiance, it really shouldn't be switched on until you're running low on 'lives.'

From the title I was expecting more info regarding how the Keepsakes work well with different boons, companions, which ones are worthwhile switching out for Biomes and which are better for full runs. Recently I've been using the Pom Blossom until the final biome before switching out for extra health/extra death defiance.

Nyx's Keepsake is fantastic when you stack up other backstab/exposed boons, for example. Patrocles' Keepsake is brilliant with Revenge and dodge-chance boons, as the Revenge triggers when you get hit, not when you take damage. I would've liked to see more info like this. Also worthwhile mentioning the stats when they're fully levelled up, as it seemed you were comparing level 1 keepsakes to level 3.

Great summary of the basic functions of each of the keepsakes, but nothing I didn't already know just by reading each of the descriptions.

I'd like to offer a few critiques to this video and add a few tips myself.

1.) *This video under-estimates the value of skull earring quite a bit.*

Sure, you aren't going to benefit from the keepsake constantly. But if you aren't hit often, you'll be hitting bosses hard while you're within that 30% range. Keep in mind, you have 3 Death Defiance, which means you'll have 4 opportunities to be within that range. And considering you only recover 50% of your health per DD (usually), you'll often find yourself staying within that range quite a bit when fighting Hades.

Skull earring is great for players who want a hefty damage boost for the Hades boss fight, and haven't been using Pierced Butterfly.

It's true that you won't consistently benefit from the earrings - but why "force" yourself into the lower 30% when you can simply use the keepsake as a backup for when you do fall into the red? It's not a very good keepsake for players who find themselves getting hit often - but it's great for players who are only occasionally hit.

2.) *The bonuses gained from Pierced Butterfly is lost when the item is unequipped, and equipping the item later means you benefit less from it.*

In other words, you want to equip this keepsake from either the very start of the game or the second level - keeping in mind that it's easiest to dodge attacks and boost the keepsake in the 1st level. It's a great keepsake, but you're at the mercy of the game when it comes to boons. This is not a good keepsake for people who want specific builds.

Same goes for Lambent Plume.

3.) *The God keepsakes are even better than what this video makes them out to be.*

If all these keepsakes did was what their description read, I would agree with Legacy Gaming. Guaranteeing a specific god shows up once for a chance of the boon you need wouldn't be all that great. *However, equipping their keepsake guarantees they'll show up throughout the rest of the run.*

As you play through Hades, you will see boons appear for 4 different gods (with the exception of Hermes and Chaos). Once you obtain boons from those 4 different gods, you will not see boons from any other gods unless you force them to appear using a keepsake. This is to allow players to work off of their pre-existing boons. Without this mechanic, it would be far too difficult to create powerful builds. When you use a God keepsake and the god appears, then they become a part of the god pool! Want to make a Poseidon build? Equip his keepsake to guarantee he'll be one of the 4 gods in the god pool!

I used to ignore god boons because I didn't realize there was a god pool that naturally stopped after 4 different gods gave you there boons (again, exceptions with Hermes and Chaos). Using God keepsakes allowed me to create incredibly fun builds - some of them insanely broken.

When he says there are better keepsakes - that's only true if you aren't going for specific builds. If you're going for specific builds, these keepsakes are practically necessary.

4.) *When to use Lucky Tooth, Spiked Collar, Myrmidon Bracer, or Lucky Acorn?*

Legacy Gaming didn't elaborate, but he was right to say Lucky Tooth is great when players do not have 3 Death Defiance. When players do have 3 Death defiance, they'll usually benefit more from Spiked Collar. This is because Lucky tooth revives you once with 50 HP, whereas Spiked Collar will give you an additional 50 HP, then an additional 25 HP per Death Defiance use.

Also, keep in mind that fountains restore health based off a percentage of your total - so Spiked Collar will also help you heal more at fountains!

Myrmidon Bracer is great if you find yourself with a lot of HP - because it can easily reduce more damage than what HP you'd gain from the aforementioned keepsakes. I'd estimate that you'd benefit more from Myrmidon bracer if you find yourself with more than 200/225 HP.

Evergreen Acorn is specifically for bosses, which is great because Bosses are generally the ones to kill players (namely Hades). Hades can hit for 60 damage with his spear. With a fully upgraded Acorn blocking 5 hits, assuming the first 5 attacks to strike you are from his spear, that's 300 damage prevented! And if you're playing on a higher heat where his attacks do more damage.... woah boy, this keepsake is AMAZING. Sure, it's not doing anything for you "most of the time", but it does A LOT for you when you (generally) need it most!

I'm still trying to think of a way in which Broken Spearpoint is of much use. I find that getting hit multiple times in a row doesn't happen all that often - though I believe it may be much better in Hell mode where you have a pact (that can not be toggled off) that removes your invincibility frames. I also read comments where it can be useful for "revenge" attacks as well as mitigate a lot of magma damage. It's still a bit too niche for me, but all of that is definitely worth mentioning.

If you switch Keepsakes and unequip the Pierced Butterfly, you will lose the bonus...

Skull earrings is actually pretty easy to utilize.

Dionysius has a boon which allows you to take less damage when at low HP and if you use the "1 death defy per encounter" instead of the "3 death defies", then you can easily keep your health low, as the 1 per encounter restores you to 30% instead of the 50% you get otherwise.

One thing I haven't noticed people bringing up is that the Bone Hourglass keepsake has a nice loophole. If you have it on and get to the next biome, spend your Obels in the fountain room to utilise the bonus and then you can switch out your keepsake and the bonus still applies. It doesn't have to be equipped to keep the extra perk.

And another tip I found out at the same time is that you can buy all three Well of Charon bonuses and then reroll to get another three to buy as well.

For Tartarus I use the Chaos keepsake... and then after I use Charons keepsake... because those well buffs with a maxed out hourglass are insane.

Pierced Butterfly is usually ranked pretty low by most good players because 1. if you unequip it, all of the bonus you earned will disappear and 2. if you're good enough to not get hit throughout the game, then you don't need the pitiful attack increase

You compare your 1 star keepsakes to your 3 stars ones

I usually equip the owl to get some sort of deflect on either my dash or main attack and then use the the one from persephone. It can really ramp up your build in the end area.

Choosing achiles keepsake over the tooth kinda depends on how much health you have.
If you're fighting hades with 150 health you're reducing each 30 damage hit by 6. That'll reduce 30 damage going in at full health. The tooths death defiance gives you more than that.

Just a reminder that all the boost keepsakes’ buffs only last until you switch keepsakes. You can’t buff up and switch keepsakes unfortunately.

Here I am trying to save 500 darkness for a another second life, and I can use skelly's lucky tooth instead whilst levelling up other stats. Going to try that next, it seems very handy

Honestly, lucky tooth is my favorite. My second favorite is the collar which increases health. Dash is your best bet in this game. So, if you dash and have thos equipped your health bar will stay up. My tops to equip are the feather duster, the tooth, the shackle, the helmet, and hermes keepsake. That's it. Haha Sometimes the egg. When I wanna get whatever chaos has. Sometimes Hypnos keepsake.

In my opinion the best keepsake is the Lambent Plume, especially effective used along with the twin fists of Aspect of Zagreus, you can easly get 35/40% evasion rate that is huge, also if you are lucky and get a epic greater evasion from hermes you can reach a crazy 60% evasion along with other damage reductions boons will make you almost untouchable on the latest and harder bosses of the game.
