How to Get Negative Feedback Removed on eBay | 3 Proven Techniques

Have you received negative feedback on eBay? Don’t worry! There are steps that you can take as a seller to help mitigate or remove the negative feedback.

In this video I will teach you how to:

1) Contact eBay Support to see if a customer service rep can remove the feedback.

Feedback reported to eBay will be removed in the following instances:

• When the Feedback was the direct result of a program error, website issue or systemic delay in communication (or shipping).
• The buyer left negative Feedback, but the item is still unpaid.
• You couldn’t contact the buyer because their communication preferences that they provided are wrong.
• If a buyer has been suspended or banned by eBay.
• If you blocked the buyer, but they purchased the item with a different account.
• If a comment is in clear violation of eBay policies (i.e. if it contains links to another website, or if seller or uses obscene, racist or profane/vulgar language).
• If the buyer posts your personal information (i.e. phone number, home address, ect.).

2) Send the buyer a feedback Revision Request Form

Contact the buyer via eBay messages to see if they would be willing to change their feedback. Oftentimes, if you can resolve the buyer’s issue, they are happy to help!

Follow these steps:

a) Click on My eBay at the top right corner, and then click on the Account tab.
b) In the “My Account” column on the left, click on “Feedback.”
c) Click on the "Request Feedback Revision" link under “Recent Feedback.” Alternately, you can click on the “Go to Feedback Forum” link and click “Request Feedback revision” on the right side of the page, under “Feedback tools.”
d) Select the Feedback that you want to request a revision for.
e) Under the line “Give the buyer a reason for the request," state the reason why you would like to have the Feedback revised.
f) Once done, click the “Send” button. The buyer will receive an email with your request.
g) Let the buyer know that they only have 10 days to respond to the feedback revision request. If they don’t change their Feedback in that time…it becomes permanent.


3) How to Reply to Feedback from Buyers

• You can reply to feedback that buyers have left by clicking on the “reply” link next to the feedback
• PLEASE NOTE: After leaving your reply…you cannot make any change or remove the feedback!
• If you chose to leave a follow-up comment, remember to be professional and polite (only stating facts).
• Remember, your future customers will see how you respond to customer issues.

ive had 3 negative feedback removed thanks to this video. i always emailed ebay rather than calling and everytime within minutes the feedback was removed.

One of the Main problems is that, Buyers do Not have to at least message the Seller first, to give them a chance to correct the issue, before a Buyer can leave Negative Feedback.

I gotta say thanks so much. I had a negative feedback and submitted a revise and they declined it. i talked to a rep and he gave me the runaround so i almost gave up. then i watched this video and called back and got a new rep and WOW practically right away they were able to handle the situation! I wouldnt expect to do this all the time but it worked and i dont plan to have any more soon thanks again.

One thing to point out, on a feedback revision they can also give you another negative. This recently happened to me. The first negative was harsh, the second was a bit toned down, but still a negative. Oh well. I'm over it,

Oh man! My comment went away bc the video ended! After several tries to reply to the negative feedback and calling them about 4 times didn’t work! The last Ebay rep finally told me their reply didn’t work. So it’s hopeless after you get a negative feedback! This video is over a year old and things have gotten much worst on eBay.

A few weeks ago, nothing even trying to buy something didn’t work from the phone!

eBay is driving me crazy bc of all the eBay mess ups!

Awesome video. I had 2 negative feedbacks on my page and I put it off for a while🤣 I didn’t let it bother me however I knew the buyers were full of you know what. I requested them to be revised and I kid you not in 5-10 minutes they were erased!!!

Really informative video that helped me as a buyer understand what sellers have to go through, but as a buyer I worry that my honest feedback will be removed and any bad sellers get away with not sending items or sending faulty items and blaming the postal service. Additionally with the reply to the feedback they can claim they they replied to your messages even if they didn't. The best advice I can give for buyers and sellers is to be honest. Don't put your starting bid so low you don't want to sell the item at a low price and don't bid or buy if you don't want exactly what the seller is selling.

Thank you for your video. I tried the appeal route without success. I then tried the eBay for Business Facebook page as you recommended and was able to get the negative comment removed.

Dude out of 330 positive feedback I just received my 1st negative feedback because the buyer did not like how much he paid for the shipping of the purchase. He didn’t receive it damaged nor was there anything wrong with it. He didn’t like how much he paid for the shipping. That’s so dumb bro… definitely going to eBay messenger and going to try that call route because that’s petty!

If you get negative feedback theres a high chance you deserve it.
I encourage all consumers that leave negative feedback is to track it and make sure it has not been removed.
Its CRITICAL to know why negative feedback was introduced is to keep sellers honest. Summary is - dont sell garbage and you wont get negative feedback.

I just recently dealt with a scammer who claimed the item I sold him was broken. He messaged me trying to get a refund on shipping. I told him to contact eBay first to receive it as the listing said no returns or refunds. He then said, “I don’t want to talk to them! I want to talk to you! Now I demand a refund!” I reported him twice and no response.

Great video and great advice, I do think also that regrettably there will be just a minority of people that will find fault with anything to get some kind of partial refund if they can.

Some just blatantly lied and said I sold there item to someone else I was super confused. I literally requested they give me 24 hrs to locate their missing item. How is that selling the item to someone else. Buyers are out here acting like they have road rage, crazy
