Definitely a book, like others of hers, that warrants rereading. I engaged more with Sula than with The Bluest Eye, though that had little to do with the books themselves but rather to circumstances beyond my control. Thanks for such a thoughtful review.

This sounds wonderful. My only experience with Morrison so far was reading The Bluest Eye for a high school class and I hated it, but I wonder how much of that was actually because it was required reading instead of the book itself. I've been wanting to give Morrison a second try for ages because I so badly want to love her the way everyone else seems to.
