Nice setup! I believe I heard you on the air a few times as we are both from the same area. You are about 40 minutes from me. 73 Larry KI2LDD

Nice setup I ordered the same backpack for my 578 but it didn’t come with shoulder straps did you order these separately?

Does the radio overheat when running in the bag? Worry about air circulation while operating in the bag?

Power Poles, have one ready made with the "cigarette" lighter plug on the end. And another with alligator clips.

Check the wattage max on your telescoping antenna. That 578 will most likely cook it. Program the 578 for all channels to start at or below the rating of your lowest watt antenna. No need to let the magical smoke free.

Try digital simplex mode. It's awesome.

What is the antena shown on the thumbnail of the video? Is it the signal stick with Paracord on it or a different antenna?

I'm looking at that pack on amazon and it looks like the front pouch of yours (where you keep the battery) is much larger than the one sold with it. Did you get a bigger pouch for the battery or is that what the pack came with?
