Today we will be reviewing Portra 160 NC! How does this film stack up agains the Portra films of the future? Is Portra 160 NC worth shooting in todays golden age of film stock? I kinda just made that part of... Golden age... I mean anything could be considered the golden age right? Who Knows... Hope you enjoy the review! :)

The sound is a bit mushy. Sounds like you called Jason and he recorded it for you through phone speaker, lol. Great vid btw!!

Great video. You young folks getting into film photography is really inspiring and interesting at the same time. My personal opinion from 20 years ago was I despised the NC but adored the VC-especially the 400 when they came out. The NC replaced the venerable VPS that all the portrait and wedding photographers went nuts over (hated that film too. Contrast was flat as a pancake). Of course now my opinions are moot with the ability to scan and adjust color, contrast, and saturation in whatever lightroom/photoshop program one uses these days.
Keep 'em coming man. Really entertaining stuff.

Great video! I love the slightly faded look of the expired 160NC. Also that landscape is bonkers!

Bro that car rear 11:47 shot is indeed clean af. I still haven't shot Portra yet. I guess the hype around it makes me weird but you convinced me it's a priority now.

Portra 160 NC was my absolute favorite color film. When I was in college in the early 2000’s it was my go to for color. The modern incarnation is great too though. Nice to see some love given to the old NC. 🥰

I now want a video of you staring into the camera for 45 minutes straight. No words, just staring. I double-dog-dared you

So I was also scanning on my Primefilm scanner as watching this video as i ss this on timeframe 2:55 as I see this and then I see this and said: "Wait a Minute???" Aren't these Rocks in the background were used in the location shooting from Star Trek TOS from the episode Shore Leave, and Arena, and also Star Trek - Picard First season??? Great Video, Vintage Film on a Vintage Film Location... Give them Points....

Wait, what's the purpose of that small flashlight aimed at your lens in the middle of your 18sec exposure?

I've shot Portra 160 NC and Portra 400 VC, and I gotta say it saddens my heart to know that the VC line is so hard to find now

I’ve watched this video twice now, that Mercedes shot sticks with me it’s a banger for sure. What’s the deal with Ektar vs portra? I’m curious. Noticed ektar is cheaper.

I recently bought five rolls of Portra 400 UC (ultra color). I had never heard about that one before and am curious as to how the rolls turn out!

Caleb I have a couple of rolls of Portra 160VC in 120 if you are interested. Also have some Fuji 160S. I don’t use much color film so I’d be more than happy to send it your way.
