Kodak Portra 160 Review - 'Sunny Portraits'
Показать описание
Our Kodak Portra 160 review combines the community's comments, recommendations, sample images and feedback to give you an excellent overview of Portra 160 film's strengths and weaknesses!
To purchase any of the Kodak Portra films - including Portra 160 35mm or 120 - then head to Analogue Wonderland here!
Kodak Portra 160 is the slowest of the Portra family - with Portra 400 and 800 1 and 2 stops faster respectively.
Similar to Portra 400, it replaced a film range called ‘Vericolor’ in 1998 - and was originally produced in two different flavours. ‘Natural’ colour and ‘vivid’ colour. The current emulsion of Portra 160 - which combined the best technology of the two variants into one single film - landed in market in 2011, a year after Portra 400 made the same journey.
It is of course a portrait specialist! The skintones that you would expect from any Portra film, but what the 160 brings on top is a clarity and detail that comes from slow speed films. So when you look on-site at the reviews you can obviously see quite a few portraits, particularly outside on lovely sunny days/evenings, but you can also see lots of nature photos, some outside still-lifes - and people talk about the flexibility that gives them on a walk or holiday - to shoot people and landscapes and get brilliant results for both.
