Jon got his start as a back up singer for Gloria Estefan. On her Coming Out Of The Dark tour she had him sing this song at her show. It just shows how generous she was to people in her crew.

Jon Secada was one of the best Latin voices to emerge in the 1990's. From his backup work with Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine to his later solo hits, he was very popular with the ladies.
Marc Snthony would break through later in the decade with two brilliant singles, I NEED TO KNOW, and YOU SANG TO ME.
Ricky Martin would have his biggest success with SHE BANGS and LIVIN' LA VIDA LOCA.
Of course, the Latin explosion wouldn't be complete without mentioning Selena and the major return of Carlos Santana.
There was also Juan Gabriel, Lucero, Alejandra Guzman, Shakira, Enrique Iglesias, and many others.
Speaking of Santana, the next song should be MARIA, MARIA. Everyone knows about SMOOTH. But I think the rhythm and pace of Maria will really hook you. Enjoy

I LOVE this song! Jon's voice is amazing. He hit just a few years before the Latin Explosion (Ricky Martin, Marc Anthony, etc). He had a solid career but if he'd hit a few years later probably would have been even bigger. Btw it's Se-CAH-da.

We hear Jon Secada sing "I" the first time at 2:15 and you can see Amber smile for the first time in this song and you see Jay's eyebrows go up. They are pleasantly surprised and genuinely impressed. Twenty seconds later we hear the second "I" and both Jay and Amber close their eyes and are fully in love with Jon Secada's vocals. See how Jay and Amber react to the third time Jon Secada sings "I" at 5:20 and the fourth time at 6:05.
