Your point is correct that Amir Khusrau did not invent any musical instruments, but there is no doubt that he used them himself, Though we are unaware of the exact instruments he used, it is clear from his poetry that he mentioned musical instruments, which were commonly associated with him. One of his Persian couplets is:

"Ze saaz mutrib e pursoz, i'n raseed bigosh, kay chob o taro sada e tanan tanan hama ost."

This couplet, along with many other verses, refers to musical instruments. This indicates that the qawwali that Khusrau sung with instruments which was later called "qawwali" by Fariduddin, (involved musical instruments)

Regarding the book Fawa’id ul-Fawa’id, it is known that later scholars removed many things from it that conflicted with their own beliefs.

To summarize, although Khusrau did not invent any musical instruments, it is undeniable that he was a great musician and personally used instruments, as evidenced by many of his own verses.
