For the lower temps and better productivity the 5900X is the easy winner for me.

AMD fans hype up anything.. I think the amd community lost their mind. A 5900x gives you 5 less fps (assuming you didn't overclock) but is much better at multi core workloads. I cant believe people went from the 5900x to a 5800x3D id choose a 5900x

tbh who's going to run games on 1080p when they have a gpu like 3080 or maybe 3080ti, 2K ultra seems like a reasonable setting, with the price dip on the 5900x( cheaper than 5800x3d ) plus 4 more cores and the ablitily to OC, it's really hard for me to justify the reason for choosing this one over the 5900x, if upgrade is needed I rather spend 80~90 AUD $ more and get the 5950x just for the extra cores.

The 5800X3D only has a significant performance gain over the 5900X at 1080p. If you game at 4K it’s way more GPU bound. 5800X3D is still the better CPU to get for just gaming.

Bought brand new 5900x for 278 usd. Couldnt wait for 5800x3d longer since second hand 5800x3d were too expensive imo or someone else bought them faster than me

Thanks for the 1440 testa my res is 1600 so it seems that is not point to change my proc for a newer one

I wonder how much I've been let down with going with the 5900x Instead of the 58003DX with a 3840x1600 Ultrawide 160hz because I've seen 4k comparisons and 1440 and at 4k the difference is smal

5800x3d is 5 degrees hotter.
5800x3d Gpu is 10 degrees hotter.

when testing cpu you should do 1080p low, to increase load on the CPU, not 4k ultra...
this is completed usless, both CPU are Gpu bottlenecked in this test
