SCP-345 | Stone Puzzle Cube (SCP Orientation)

Today we will be studying Item number SCP-345: Stone Puzzle Cube, Object class: Safe.

SCP-345 is a stone cube, whose faces are each divided into nine squares of equal size, and sections of which can be rotated in a fashion similar to a common puzzle toy. Instead of the normal six colors commonly found in this kind of puzzle, the squares represent six different materials: an intrusive magmatic rock resembling granite, an intrusive magmatic rock resembling gabbro, an extrusive magmatic rock resembling basalt, a sedimentary rock resembling sandstone, volcanic glass resembling obsidian, and a high-grade metamorphic rock resembling granite gneiss.

If left open for 5 seconds, SCP-345 will automatically close and shuffle itself for two minutes. Afterward, it may be safely handled. Completing a face of the block can cause shaking, heating or reshuffling at high speeds.

Sounds pretty useful for energy generation. Just automate the process of solving it using heat resistant materials and use the heat to power turbines. Not the most powerful of generators but useful nonetheless and basically free energy.

I just watched a fascinating science video that possibly explained what the large metal sphere is. Essentially its a star after what I would consider an incomprehensible amount of time. This also requires the universe to have NO proton decay. If protons do decay even iron stars would eventually fade.

Domeone really needs to make a rubix cube with stone inserts so it would look like the SCP, also the fact its stone brings back a lot of nostalgia for the lore of the "Myst" games

Ah! you can use this to make a new planet in the asteroid belt! Just take a d-class, ship him up there on a rocket, in a pod, and make him solve the puzzle up there in space. I would love to see what would happen there.

Why does solving all sides of the cube without authorization result in getting transferred to the MTF responsible for tracking anomalous births? I don't see the correlation between these two.

I can solve a rubrix cube, but I’ll burn my hand beyond use trying to solve this SCP as my style is solve the sides multiple times until I get all the corners solved then work on just solving the edges. It can take a while unless I get lucky and get through it quickly but it solves the rubrix cube. I even got appraisal Freon a bunch of strangers for solving it using my method. And too be honest that wasn’t even the first time I solved one
