I don’t know if this frustrates anyone, but I eyeball the colours and change them and use between kits however I see fit. I love it.

I have only bought Amazon and Temu kits. Even if I was a millionaire I wouldn't pay the prices of the diamond painting companies, but I will always cheer on those who feel differently.

I only ever use a single placer because the joy is in the journey for me, not in the finish line. I prefer placing each drill perfectly the first time.

Great vid!

Totally agree with all of this list.I started diamond painting a year ago to help with mental health issues, and I went crazy with the kits I purchased, definitely FOMO, so 2024 is a no buy year I have 80 odd kits I need to get through.I was doing abit every day but I have now learnt this is something I love so its ok to take days off. I also went crazy on pens and trays, again lesson learnt, I dont need them I just wanted it two different ideals. On the plus it as helped with my health and now when stressed I just sit down with my kit, very relaxing.I prefer big square kits so it takes a couple of months to finish, thankyou for your wise words .😊

Crafting for yourself and not for others is the best way to go! Thanks for re-affirming that!

Great tips. Thankfully my budget has always kept me out of the FOMO, I just don’t have the money to afford all the kits I want. I’ve had to be mindful about buying kits that I love.

Hi Daphne, cool video. I think the sweetest part was where your husband was asking for a recording of the clicking noises :-) he can take it with him when he’s working away from home and fall asleep with your ASMR. ❤️ from 🇨🇦

This is the first video I’ve watched of yours, I have to admit I grinned from ear to ear when I heard your name. My granddaughter Daphne is 19 months old and the light of my life. My son and his wife kept her name a guarded secret until we met her in the hospital, I loved the name from the second they introduced us to her. ❤

I have one Diamond painting set I got for Christmas two years ago…haven’t had the courage to attempt it quite yet, maybe your videos will help my courage. 👍🏻

Hi Daphne, I'm 80 and have no Idea what FOMO means but there are many. things I wish I had know when I started Diamond Painting in March 2023. Check and double check how big the painting is, I have paintings that are so big it would take me years to complete but I love the image. It's so easy to buy things when the money is just a click of a button. Loved this video thanks for sharing your thought on this with us.

Hi Daphne, this is the first video I watched about diamond painting and I’m starting my first one today with a movie as a treat. I appreciate your tips and emphasis on doing what feels the most enjoyable. I’ve been a knit/crochet/embroidery crafter for a while, and its nice to start a new craft knowing how nice it is to ignore the trends/jnfluences and just do what is fun and feels inspired.

Thankfully, my eclectic taste in diamond paintings has kept me safe from FOMO. Also, i love huge paintings, so i only keep about two in my stash. I dont have a lot to spend, so i save up for my purchases.

This is an excellent episode!! I have been diamond painting for two years now and have bought all the things, have a stash, started with small unlicensed works, etc. I agree with ALL of 1-10!! This year I told myself I was going to complete my larger kits, even if I only complete 12 for the whole year. I am presently in 2 events and working on two separate large DAC paintings. I am enjoying the process so much. I certainly have enough of everything to keep going for several years!
Thank you for all you do, I really enjoy your channel.

I agree with everything you said but would add one of my own. I just had no idea when I started how addicted I would become. I started DPing on the advice of my pain doc who suggested a hobby I could get lost in to help with pain management. I used to be an avid knitter/crocheter, but my arthritis made doing that much too painful. I stumbled upon diamond painting and soon found I was lost in "diamond meditation" for hours on end. So, while that is a good thing pain-wise for me, I find that it keeps me from other things that I should be doing or want to be doing. Had I known about the addictive nature of this craft would I have begun? Probably, but it would have been good to have that understanding before I began.

I try to never miss one of your videos. I have enjoyed and learned from every single one I've watched. Thank you for adding to my DP experience!

Thanks for making this video. I just started diamond painting in April 2023, and quickly became addicted to this hobby. The amount of time it takes for me to do a painting took me by surprise, so I started buying paintings without thinking about the time factor. FOMO also contributed to my buying a lot of paintings, so by the end of 2023 I had bought 74 paintings, but only completed 2 partials and one small painting. Last year was a big learning curve for me so now I am more careful about what I buy for accessories and paintings. 😃😃

You make some really good points, Daphne. Your comments about FOMO were spot on. Thank goodness I’ve only had FOMO once-About six years ago I had my eyes on a DP that I just had to have but I waited way too long to order it and by the time I wanted to actually buy it, it was sold out. I waited months for it to be restocked and it never was. I definitely had FOMO over this one! So I took the leap and reached out the company that made it and asked if it would be restocked. They let me know that even when an item is sold out and looks like it might not come back in stock again, they usually have a few on hand, put aside in their warehouse. They were nice enough to check into it for me and it turned out they actually had several of them still on hand and I was able to purchase it from them. I don’t know if all companies do this but if you have that special unicorn, like I did, I guess it can’t hurt to actually reach out to the company and ask if they have any on hand that you could purchase. My unicorn was called The Sorrowful Angel, and it’s now and always will be, my favorite dp.

Wow! You apparently put a lot of time & effort in making your list. It helped me stop & think about each point. We can all get caught up in the things we want, but if we hit pause, sometimes it will stop impulsive spending. When watching various videos & reading comments about diamond painting, it’s staggering the amount of money people have invested in the craft. Diamond painting can be addictive for those of us that love it. Then I’m reminded that gambling is also addictive. An addiction means balance has been lost. I don’t mean to be a downer, but keeping balance with anything that brings us joy is important. Ugh! Now I’ve depressed myself! Anyway, this was a valuable & thought provoking video so good on you! 🥰

I cannot be more agree to point 10! I'm doing this for my relaxation and don't care how much time it costs me.

I found your channel a few weeks ago and I have been binge watching videos! Even ones from 2022 and 2023 lol Your voice is very soothing and I just like your channel! ❤ Thank you for another video!

I feel you should take all your Diamond painting assortments with you to Canada. If you can afford to travel with your DP equipment, take it with. It will more expensive to import it compared to moving with it. When you’re all settled in, then sell what you don’t want.
Everything in your list is 💯 % spot on. I wish I had know it as well. Thank you ☺️

I agree on steel tips, let’s not forget their steel straightener, which is always with me during DPing. I do a lot of rounds so I uses it for every section I finish. Great video!
