Thank you so much for watching! Let's connect below to help one another out. What tips do you have?

Update: I stopped taking Ozempic because the side effects interfered with me living my life. I’ve continued to lose weight despite what many say about the results of going off it. I lost 8 pounds on it and 61 total (as of 21/4/24) so most of the weight came off without it. Feel free to ask any questions in the comments and I can try to answer them or explain more :)

Keep in mind that everyone is different. I've been on OZ for over 9 months now, I'm down over 60 pounds, and have very little side effects. Even with the baby dose, I found that I instantly stopped snacking. No more boredom trips to the refrigerator. I have found that you have to force yourself to eat some days. You just don't feel hungry most of the time. No nausea, no gas, no burps.... But on day 4 after taking my shot, by the time I get home from work in exhausted, but only that day. Ozempic has been a life changer for me, blood sugars are great and weight-loss is a blessing. I know that I'm lucky not to have side effects that others get. Remember most people are fine with taking OZ, but there are some that get these side effects.

Good tips, I also found that doing the injection in the upper thigh instead of the stomach eliminates many gastric side effects.

Been taking Ozempic for about 1 year. I found that taking it at bedtime really relieved the nausea (apparently you don't feel nausea if you're asleep). Have lost 33 pounds and my A1C is 5.8. Found that I can only eat about 1/2 of my "normal" meal, so that helped with the weight loss. I still eat the same foods, just much less quantity. Have had some issues with constipation, but probiotics helped with that. I had fatty liver disease prior to taking Ozempic, but now that has disappeared! It's a great drug if you can get past the side effects!

Type 2 here. A1C went from 12 to 5.4. No nausea, no side effects at all and feel soooo much better since my body is making its own insulin. Btw lost 70 lbs in 11 mos.

I’ve lost 37kg with Ozempic since December. I’m Insulin Resistant. The nausea stops after a month or 2. I’m also on Metformin 1000mg slow release. So I think the both together have been my success. 99kg down to 62kg. Size 18 down to a size 8 in Australian sizing. Feel amazing! New attitude to life in general. Not tired or have back pain anymore. I’m a new person!!

been using Ozempic and metformin for one and a half year, and was able to lost 130 pounds (I was morbidly obese at the time, something like 300 pounds). now I'm switched to Rybelsus, and it definitely helped with light-headedness and nausea! I don't experience side effects anymore) my insulin resistance is completely gone, I feel myself so much healthier and can participate in so much more activities with my kids)

I have been Ozempic since 2021 I have lost 110 pounds. I started at the lowest injection and have titrated up to 1 mg from 0.5 and 0.25. I have had no side effects and find that the day I give the injection I fast for the whole day and just drink water, clear tea with a slice of lemon or orange. My cholesterol numbers have gone from 5 to 0.02. My only concern is excess skin that is on my abdomen. I still roller skate, swim and walk and feel really good. I do not have diabetes, but did have high cholesterol. After I reach my goal weight I will use Ozempic once a month at the maximum dosage 2 mg to maintain my goal weight. I eat 3 meals a day, 3 snacks (only if I feel hungry). I weighed 227 pounds 5' 1". I took early retirement and am having a great time. I was born to be retired. If you have a weight problem, high cholesterol, shortness of breath, trouble walking, sleep apnea, or any other health problems, you do not have to be diabetic to be on Ozempic. I am not diabetic or even borderline diabetic. You may be insulin resistant. Talk to your GP, an Endocrinologist, a Cardiologist, and get into a support group of others taking Ozempic or start a group. You will be amazed at how good you start to feel just by eating less and how your body tells you, one more bite of that food on your plate and you will be sick. I have left bits on my plate for the last two years, it is incredible and I feel great. You are not to blame for being overweight your chemicals are just not working correctly. Be kind to yourself and get this issue addressed in your life, you're worth it. Always Donna Kelley

It’s interesting how differently Ozempic affects each person. I have T2 diabetes, and have been on it for several months now. I started on the 0.25 mg weekly dose, increased to 0.5 mg after a short while, and I’m now on the 1 mg weekly dose. I never had any side effects, and it didn’t affect my appetite at all. Plus I never lost weight. BUT, it has been improving my sugars, which is the most important thing.

I have been on ozempic for 2 months and have lost 12 lbs. My Dr suggested it to me as I am T2 diabetic. I have been over 200 lbs for at least the last 15 years. My weight never going up or down but staying at around 206. I am only 5’4”. I am a senior. I finally told my Dr. I was ready as my eating got out of control and it was like I couldn’t stop!
So May 11th I started with my first shot. The fact that I don’t feel hungry is amazing and just what I needed. I am just finishing my .5 and going up to 1. I am very fortunate to have had really no side effects from this. So far. A bit of constipation but I started using probiotic and that helped a lot. 12 lbs down is incredible for me! I can’t wait until I can actually get down under the 180’s ! That will be the first time in many years. I believe this drug has given me a new lease on life. :) I enjoyed your video.

If your pen runs out at an odd amount, I have worked around this 2 different ways. Either take whatever is left, then adjust the dose on your next pen so it makes up the difference. You end up having to take 2 injection for your dose, but it really doesn't faze me. I'd rather not waste the expensive medication. Or, you can buy a package of insulin syringes. Then draw it out of the tip. It works just like drawing medicine from a vial. Again, you will have to draw the balance from the next syringe.

Great stuff! I am a doctor, taking Oz x 5 weeks now. This is not my specialty, and not medical advice. But other info/experiences I’ve had.

1. You are building up a steady state in your system, so a few weeks after increasing a dose you may have your worst S/E.
2. Another Dr. Suggested the shots in the thigh fat might have less GI S/E. I just did my first thigh shot and am feeling less gunky.

However, I have associated the gunky feeling with the big cut down in food intake, so I’m missing it a bit.

3. There are 20 ‘clicks’ between .25 and .5, so if necessary, and with consultation of course (yeah, right) you can go up 5 clicks at a time if you find increasing the dose to be really gnarly for you.

I’d rather take 6 months to get up to full dose successfully then to quit because I was going up too fast for my system.

4. My pharm didn’t tell me but refrigerate your pen UNTIL you start using it. Then no biggie.

5. I hadn’t lost weight in 5 years, even eating way less than my impressive normal amount. I think I lost my first 13 pounds in the time it took for me to recap my pen after my first shot.

We ALL know this isn’t just an aesthetic issue. It’s a life-extending issue. How awesome to just not feel like eating a lot. (You mean it wasn’t just a lack of self-control, Dr?)

Assuming things go as possible with the GLP-1s, I think Oz is going to change the world for millions. And as a psychiatrist, most of the medications my patients need to maintain their mental health and functioning absolutely cause lipid, blood sugar and weight disasters. How wonderful if you don’t have to choose mental vs physical health!

I hope everyone who needs this can find some way at some dose to stay on it. To all our health!

I dont know if this has been mentioned... I have found that any mint or spearmint chewing gum helps with nausea.
Thank you to everyone for sharing.

Started Ozempic 3 weeks ago. The nausea hits me about the second day after my shot, but it isn't bad. I wish I had known to keep snacks on hand, that is a blessing. I go to the dr. on the 26th to see how it is doing. My A1c was 10.2 and I haven't weighed my self but I know I have lost a little bit. I am hardly ever hungry which is awesome and when we go out to eat, I order off the kids menu...how cool is that. I am loving my journey so far, just 3 weeks in, but I am praying this finally works for me.

Been using it for 6 weeks now and your video has helped me so much. I thought I was crazy for still experiencing side effects for the couple of days after my dose.
I’ve lost 17 pounds already!!

Just started this on Monday night. My doctor suggested I take it at bedtime because if you're asleep the possible nausea might not even bother you then. I took it and I am on day 3 now and I feel fine. Did NOT feel any nausea and didn't really feel any different than I had been before I took it. I DID notice that I don't seem to be as hungry or have a huge urge that I "have" to hurry and get something to eat because I'm starved! Matter of fact, I actually forgot to eat lunch today and I didn't really miss it! Here's Hoping!

Started with Ozempic in late April weighing 198lbs. Went back to the dr just last week and I’m now at 161lbs. I’m on 0.50 dose and take it on Friday night and do take zofran. Healthy snacks and lots of water. I do eat 1 meal a day and walking is my exercise. I feel much better and healthier along with managing my hyperinsulinemia.

I’ve been taking Ozempic since Nov 2021.
When I went from .25 to .50 I started having bad stomach cramps and diarrhea and nausea. I was on vacation and couldn’t stay out of the bathroom. Ended up at urgent care and they suspected the Ozempic. They told me to go back down to the .25 and stay there a while until my body got use to the medication then bump it up again to .50. This happened in January and now I’m on .50 and have no issues. I’ve lost 60 lbs and I’m just not hungry. I’ve had to watch my blood sugar because it started going too low. (32) I’ve been also taking Metformin 1000 mg x2 per day and my dr had me to start taking only 1 per day. There are tweaks and adjustments along the way but I love Ozempic!! I also only eat about half of what I use to. I feel great and I’m looking so much better. I would definitely recommend Ozempic. Also my A1C has improved from 8.5 to 6.5. My fasting blood sugar is now between 80 to 112 and I can definitely live with that!! I have finally made it under 200 lbs which has been my first big goal! Glad to know there are others out there on this same journey!! Loved the video and these are great tips!!

I started Ozempic on 08/08/22. I've been on .25 mg and I felt the side effects right away, especially on the second day after injection. I got the nausea, tiredness and absolutely zero appetite. Most days I have to force myself to eat. When I'm "hungry" I take a few bites and I'm disgusted. I wasn't a big eater before ozempic, but I didn't have the healthiest of diets either, and so far, i have no cravings. I loved salty things, now they all taste overly salty. I didn't have much of a sweet tooth, but now things are sickly sweet to me. I have a lot of weight from a severely underractive thyroid. So my Dr wanted to see if this along with treating my thyroid would help shed the weight. I haven't weighed myself since I started. But I'm excited to see if it works for me! And Congrats to everyone who's thriving on Ozempic!!

Been on Oz for a few years. I was on Victoza prior to Oz, and had zero results with Victoza. After the change, the first thing I noticed was the side effects. It was not pretty. Ha!
I did initially lose 25 pounds a year ago, and felt great! Brought my A1C down to 5.9 from 9 in 3 months. I was so proud of myself. Then life happened. My Father was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, he eventually would be moved from his home of 46 years to an assisted living facility very close to me. The Excuses followed. I don't have time to fix breakfast, Mcdonald's is quicker and so on....The weight returned. The A1C went up to 8.5 and so now, my wife as recently as the past few weeks went through a health scare. So, after her consultation with her doctor we have decided to join weight watchers. However, I will always advocate for fresh foods over any processed or fast foods.
That's my story and I am going to let Oz do it's magical thing rather than live on the edge!
Good luck to all in their journeys!!
