I only eat 4 eggs a day, can't eat 5, because there are only 12 in a carton, if I ate 5, it would create chaos in my brain

I wish I knew all this in the 80s, 90s, and 2000s. I ate Cheerios or Special K and whole wheat toast for decades and could never shed weight. Now Im eating eggs every day and losing weight.

Both of my daughters have farms with free ranging chicken supplying me with free eggs constantly. I eat 4 per day and after eating these eggs I can barely eat a store bought white egg. The taste is so much better from free ranging chickens.

My go-to diet when I need to lean down is a pound of beef and a dozen eggs a day. Vince Gironda knew a lot but even these little extras make it better.

The benefits of eggs are ONLY new to people who feared saturated fat and cholesterol in the past.

I have a friend that was told to stop having eggs by her doctor because of high cholesterol even though she drinks alcohol, eats fast food, fried foods, deserts and other terrible processed food. I told her, the eggs are the healthiest thing you are eating and to not listen to that doctor... did she listen, nope

Nice info! Thanks. I have done OMAD a few times where my meal was "just "10 hardboiled eggs. Even though it was my only meal and I absolutely love eggs, it always felt like I overate.

Perhaps looks into the studies comparing the absorption of lutein from egg yolks vs vegetables. Although egg yolks have less lutein than vegetables, the lutein in egg yolks is more bioavailable according to studies I have read. When discussing nutrient content of food, it is important to merge nutrient content with bioavailability. If it is not bioavailable, does it still support health? Perhaps in the microbiome. Overall, I’m impressed with the bioavailability of nutrients found in egg yolks.

eat a couple leaves of kale if you want 5mg of lutein. kale can provide up to 39 milligrams of lutein per 100 grams. under one medium leaf of kale to get 5 milligrams of lutein. eat 2 to be sure

Here are the key takeaways from Thomas DeLauer's video "The Surprising New Reason I’m Eating 5 Eggs Per Day":

1. **Lutein in Eggs**:
- Eggs contain a carotenoid called lutein, which gives the yolk its yellow-orange color.
- Lutein is traditionally known for its benefits to eye health, but recent research highlights its broader health benefits.

2. **Impact on Visceral Fat**:
- A randomized controlled trial found that lutein significantly reduces visceral fat, the harmful fat surrounding internal organs, which is a major risk factor for cardiometabolic diseases.
- The lutein group in the study had better body composition outcomes compared to the placebo group.

3. **Cardiometabolic Benefits**:
- Lutein has been shown to positively impact blood pressure, arterial thickness, and inflammation related to cardiometabolic diseases.
- It acts as a powerful antioxidant, countering the common perception of eggs being problematic due to their cholesterol content.

4. **Daily Lutein Intake**:
- Optimal health benefits from lutein require an intake of at least 5 milligrams per day.
- A typical egg contains about 300 micrograms of lutein, so consuming eggs alone might not provide sufficient amounts.
- Supplements or combining eggs with other lutein-rich foods like spinach, kale, or broccoli can help achieve the desired intake.

5. **Eggs and Overall Health**:
- Eggs are rich in high-quality protein and choline, which is beneficial for brain health.
- The majority of the fat in eggs is monounsaturated, which is beneficial for cardiovascular health.
- Despite concerns over cholesterol, the overall benefits of eggs, including their lutein content, support their inclusion in a healthy diet.

6. **Supplement Recommendations**:
- For those seeking to increase their lutein intake significantly, DeLauer recommends considering high-quality lutein supplements.
- He specifically mentions Bomar Nutrition's lutein supplements as a reliable option.

In summary, DeLauer advocates for the health benefits of eggs, particularly highlighting the role of lutein in reducing visceral fat and improving cardiometabolic health, while also suggesting ways to ensure adequate lutein intake through diet and supplementation.

Hey, I'm Jonathan Griffiths, a 29-year-old with a BSc in Human Nutrition from Bournemouth, Dorset. My journey as an amateur bodybuilder has been unique due to a fused spine from a rugby injury at 14 and my Autism. Despite these hurdles, I've found incredible success on the carnivore diet over the past four years, after other pain relief methods failed. I have since competed twice as a carnivore bodybuilder, with my recent showing on June 2nd 2024 where I placed first against an extremely competitive line-up. I am going to the British finals to try and earn my pro card. Meanwhile, I have had my spine fused in 2022, and various procedures to try and reduce the pain I am in. I am currently primarily a body composition coach in the carnivore community and have helped hundreds of people to reach their goals. The carnivore diet is my only option to try and thrive, and I love it!

My diet mainly includes beef, salmon, chicken, eggs, cheese, milk, and butter. I avoid fruits, veggies, grains, nuts, seeds, oils, and sugars. I drink water, coffee, and bone broth. No calorie counting here, just focusing on around 300 grams of protein and fat each day for the past 4.5 years.

In the beginning, I lost 5 pounds and felt a surge in energy, focus, and calmness. I woke up refreshed, with no cravings or GI issues. My workouts stayed strong, with better muscle pumps, vascularity, and faster recovery.

The diet eased the pain and stiffness in my spine, giving me more freedom and comfort. It reduced my need for medications and improved my autism-related symptoms, like anxiety and mood swings. My social skills and communication also got better.

Blood tests before and after the diet showed my liver and kidney damage from a virus had healed. My cholesterol was stable, blood pressure improved, and blood sugar levels stayed low. My liver and kidney functions were normal, with no nutrient deficiencies or hormonal issues.

This diet has been eye-opening, challenging many common dietary beliefs. I've learned that meat is highly nutritious and satisfying, and plants aren't essential or particularly beneficial for me. This is especially relevant given the genetic and metabolic traits seen in people with autism.

I've stuck to the carnivore diet, with occasional treats like 'Hot Pot' and Korean BBQ, which I can cook myself at restaurants. On my YouTube channel 'Carnivore Muscle, ' I share my carnivore lifestyle, training tips, nutritional advice, and recipes, building a community of fellow carnivores and inspiring others to try this way of life.

I fully recommend the carnivore diet to anyone looking to improve their health, fitness, and well-being, especially fellow bodybuilders and those with spinal conditions or autism. In my view, it's the best way to enhance both body and mind. 💪🥩🚀

Hi Thomas, I've been living in Paraguay where the standard breakfast is at least three to four eggs with pancetta. Really. They serve a biggg bowl of eggs and I love that Aspect of the culture. Also in in three months I ate around one ton. Yes 100kg of prime fillet. My condition is pretty good too.
