Understanding Business Ethics

Good business ethics are essential for the long-term success of an organization. A company’s ethics will determine its reputation, and increasingly provide a foundation for increased shareholder value and longer term sustainability of the business. Business ethics ensure, that a certain required level of trust exists, between consumers, and the various stakeholders who engage with the business. Business ethics goes beyond just a moral code of right and wrong. Ethics are an attempt to reconcile what companies must do legally, versus maintaining a competitive advantage over other businesses.

In this course, we will examine ethics in business, and some examples of businesses who exemplify good ethical practices, and steps you can take to evaluate ethical business practice in your own organization.
