imho DRS is already a gimmick. The proposed x-mode is another gimmick. So adding a gimmick on top of a gimmick is a very poor design tbh.

I say they just scrap both ideas and leave it raw and let the teams actually engineer solutions to an issue with overtaking instead of making a mandated one for all teams.

Formula E already exists for electric, why is it being pushed into F1? I cant believe anyone really thinks 20 cars driving for 2 hours are a serious threat to the environment lol. What will they do when they learn about traffic jams?

Current DRS just increases the power of slipstream which is still the main factor to make that style of overtake possible. This new system is something else entirely.

Stealing the leading cars battery should only be used within a 1 second range otherwise starting p1 would be a massive disadvantage

Too much tech over complicating a remarkable competition. Just give 'em v10 go karts with aerodynamics and let them go for it. That'll sort the best and worst pretty quick. That's just my opinion though....
