I love that line. "You just make sure that people know what happened here today". Its double meta. In the movie he knows that he'll probably be killed in the fighting, but wants to go out in spectacular fashion. And its 4th wall because he knows he'll never play Gambit again so wants people to remember his cameo in the movie.
