Acts 1:7-8 (Voice)
The Father, on His own authority, has determined the ages and epochs of history, but you have not been given this knowledge. Here’s the knowledge you need: you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you. And you will be My witnesses, first in Jerusalem, then beyond to Judea and Samaria, and finally to the farthest places on earth.

Revelation 2:13 (KJV) When Witness = Martyr
…thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth.

Revelation 17:6 (KJV)
And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus…

Revelation 12 (KJV)
10 Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

Commentary
“God took the first step to rescue us from this corrupt world.
He has granted us His power, revealed to us true knowledge, and spoken to us great promises.
He has done all this that we might participate in His own nature and reflect His life.
We are not passive observers of God’s mission.
We must receive His grace, grow in knowledge, and join Him in this work of redemption.”

2 Peter 1 (faith + virtue + knowledge + discipline.. love)
10-11 …if you do this, then you will never fall along the way; you can be sure that you will be richly welcomed into the eternal kingdom of our Lord.
12-13 That is why I will keep reminding you of
these things, even though you believe them and have made these truths a part of your lives;
as long as I draw breath, I know it is right for me to keep stirring you up with these reminders.

John Wimber: “…in some instances, I received remarkable insights into [unbeliever’s] lives (for example, knowledge of a specific serious sin or deep hurt). I experienced what seemed to be a supernatural force flowing through me that drew people to God as I shared. When I described these experiences to colleagues, they [advised] me not to talk about them. My colleagues were uncomfortable (so was I!).
They [were concerned] I would lose stature if other leaders heard about it.
They had no explanation for what had happened.

Quote about Peter Wagner’s book, “This Changes Everything”
“A "paradigm shift" is a radical change in your way of thinking. C. Peter Wagner has undergone a number of them (17) during his decades of ministry. Now he invites you to open your mind to the Holy Spirit's paradigm-shifting power.”

Demonization is the imposition of an evil spirit into the life of a human being. The Bible contains numerous accounts of individual demonization, but let’s look at some of the features of a society or subculture where the majority of individuals are demonized. This will provide us with the background to discuss the concept of collective captivity, the idea that demons working through individuals can control the society to some extent and hinder the gospel.

Isaiah 42 (Voice)
6 You are given as a covenant between Me and the people: a light for the nations, a shining beacon to the world.
7 You will open blind eyes so they will see again. You will lead prisoners, blinking, out from caverns of captivity, from cells pitch black with despair.

Luke
78 A new day is dawning: the Sunrise from the heavens will break through in our darkness…
79 And those who huddle in night, those who sit in the shadow of death, will be able to rise and walk in the light, guided in the pathway of peace.

Luke 4:18-19 He sent Me to tell those who are held captive that they can now be set free, and to tell the blind that they can now see. He sent Me to liberate those held by oppression. In short, the Spirit is upon Me to proclaim that now is the time; this is the jubilee season of the Eternal One’s grace.

John 1:4-5 (Voice)
His breath filled all things with a living, breathing light—a light that thrives in the depths of darkness,
blazes through murky bottoms. It cannot and will not be quenched.

John 9:4-5
While it is daytime, we must do the works of the One who sent Me. But when the sun sets and night falls, this work is impossible. Whenever I am in the world, I am the Light of the world.
