Its not just middle schoolers. If you got a true best friend group everyone is there for eachother and no one is left behind.

I did. I’m raising one. This behavior is more common than most believe. This behavior is still less common than it should be. Compassion is contagious; wish everyone would catch it.

I always just said things like I’m not hungry. Most people never even thought twice about it. I also remember situations not just with food. Like in high school I was on cheer and I had to pay for everything myself (not just cheer stuff), I was also the only one with an actual job. The team was ordering hoodies as an extra and I couldn’t afford it and the coach was like I haven’t gotten your order form yet, a few parents needed an extra week to get the money so I can put it in for you if you need another week. But I was thinking a week won’t make a difference I still can’t afford it. When other girls asked me about it I just said I didn’t want one or I forgot. Even when I had a job it was hard for others to understand that I couldn’t just spend on whatever fun stuff I wanted. It really bothered me when people would say things like oh I’m so broke or I get it but then spend on something frivolous.

Grew up doing similar to foster kids at school that barely ate. I'd pack a few extra lunches to hand out. And snacks throughout the day

Half the time they can’t be wholesome, but this was a once in a million chance of a middle schooler being nice!

Reminds me of the time when, in the 7th grade, I had just moved to a new neighborhood and a new school, and had no money for games on a end of the year trip.(I had just spent my allowance on kirby and the forgotten land.) And one of my classmates saw I had no money and shared their $20 game card with me. Thanks to her, I was able to play mario kart arcade gpdx.

Personally, as a middle schooler, I would go to any shop and be kind of awkward. That’s how I was at a subway once.

In middle school i noticed someone couldnt afford a lunch tray, knowing her thru my sister. I just gave her my lunch or as much as should would take. Then i went to the office and called my mom to bring us both food 😂
