When Dr. Now said he was proud of him and he just beamed that smile, I teared up. What a beautiful soul.

Even though he lost his life, this is the type of story TLC should showcase instead of the "Tammy's". A person who gave their all to lose weight. The other comments are so right. It's the demons inside of us, that can end life. Mental health needs to be available to ANYONE that seeks it out. Even when someone is getting the help, sometimes it's not even enough. RIP LB.

So many people don’t understand how much mental health issues impact a person. They see a disabled/obese person and automatically assume they don’t deserve to be alive. It’s not just black and white. There are a myriad of factors that cause a person to be the way that they are. I truly can’t understand how people can be so cruel to someone else just because of how they look. I’m so disheartened to know L.B. ended up committing suicide. I can’t imagine how much physical/mental pain he went through to get to that point… As someone who struggled with anorexia for 6 years of my life I can say that eating disorders are insanely difficult to move past. And even when you’re in the process of recovery, you miss the destructive comfort and “control” your eating disorder gave you. And some days are good but other days, you have to fight to not give into old temptations.

I'm so sad he took his life. He seemed like a really good guy. Any woman would've been lucky to have a good man like LB.

Being an amputee myself and having depression and over weight, I understand just where he was. 😔

He was so excited but unfortunately mental health goes overlooked so much especially in the US. Good job LB, keep running up there

When he said he thought he would be better off in the ground that literally broke my heart I think that he should have got extensive mental health care because after the fact he went to a park and shot himself 💔 it was more than the weight

Rest In Peace, L.B. I'm so sorry you were hurting so badly. I would have been honored to know you. 🙏

It’s scary to think that the last thing we heard from him was that he was excited for the future knowing he took his life afterwards. Can’t imagine the pain his family is going through

LB seems like a very sweet person, I’m happy that he was successful in his goals, but then I read some of the other comments and learned that he’s passed away. Rest In Peace, buddy.

I love his mom. She really loved him and even pushed him to get out of the house.

I can't believe this awesome man is no longer in this world. His family loved him and he seemed like an amazing person. This saddens me so much I ended up crying.

I can't imagine how devastated his family is to lose him that way after all the hard work he put into taking his life back and losing all of that weight 🥺 covid has impacted so many all around the world with not just the loss of life from the virus but the effect it's had on our mental health. RIP LB Run free

Living with a mobility disability, _everything_ takes more energy... including exercise. Great job to James for giving so much to his goals.

I was screaming with happiness when he just trotted to the room after being weighed! He looked like he felt weightless.
