Good stuff -- especially on Participatory Budgeting in N.Y. ...We also have a zone/precinct here in Chicago that's been working with that for the past few years. It's small, but the results are fascinating (a few months ago, I attended a conference and hear some of the participants discuss).

We're going to need a lot more new ideas like that for increasing involvement, civic participation, & representation. So, always good to hear some more when possible.

Heartening to know people are working on ways to move us beyond repeating the same mistakes over and over. Science fiction is a great tool for considering various possiblities.

When some people hear 'run a business' or more specifically simply 'run',
some conjure within them 'dictate' and 'delegate authority',
others: 'operate' and 'organize endeavor'.
This understanding would be true even for the concept of rapid motion that falls within the word.
