Nice video son. You answered a LOT of questions I had about connecting a dolby atmos approved soundbar to this particular display. Thank you, keep up the great work!

Hey great video man. Able to clarify the exact information I needed. Dropping 1200 on a monitor is a lot and glad to know Im able to use it to its full potential bc of your vid

14:40 it’s because the Game only supports 60hz max, u have to look at 3 things when learning about fps.
1 - if your console/pc supports high fps
2 - if the monitor supports high fps
3 - if the game supports high fps

Alan Wake 2 doesn't run at 120hz in performance mode on ps5, it runs at 60hz, so that's not a bug.

For a tv it’s easy to set up eARC. You just plug the HDMI cord into the eARC port and then plug the console into the other HDMI port, and you’re good. If anything, you just go to sound settings and choose HDMI eARC as the sound source. Since this is just a monitor with zero speakers, the eARC function should be enabled as soon as it detects the soundbar.

If I had seen the results that RTINGS published today—based on my repeated requests—on the day I bought the AW3225QF monitor, I would have never purchased it. I really hope Dell can improve this with a software update to reduce the input lag.

Awesome video. When I switch to either of the HDR modes, the color seems to be washed out and as if there’s a yellow filter on the screen. I personally found using the Custom HDR mode with the saturation up and colors balanced fixed it.

I just found this out. Connecting the type-B port to a system will enables the other monitor USB ports to work with that system. I connected the type-B cable to my PC. Now, I can connect my flash drive from my monitor. The type-B port also works well with the ps5. My wireless audio transmitter is connected to the monitor and it works fine.
This feature will make it more more feasible to move my systems farther away to provide more leg room under my table.

Another more niche option for sound on consoles is a capture card. I use the Elgato 4K X. It works wonderfully with this monitor. I also use a more advanced setup using an HDMI 2.1 switch box and VRR & ALLM all work. Obvs not everyone needs an hdmi switch, but the capture card is nice because then you can just use the Elgato or similar software to play and capture sound using your sound hardware on PC. I know it might not be worth to some people who don't stream, but figured I'd mention it because then it wouldn't matter what console you connect. Another good video and explanation of setting things up.
