Nice! That's what I do as well. Pick when head is formed and very firm. I'm jealous 'cause I don't have one!

Also when you cut the head off will the plant grow another head of cabbage.

That is a beautiful head of cabbage! I hope you enjoy that baby! C3 Voyage mentioned below that you can cut into the soil to keep the head from spitting. I've also heard of turning the head 1/4 so that it breaks some of the roots and keeps the head from continuing to grow too fast. I suppose you would do that if you have a lot of cabbages getting ready at the same time. I wish I had that problem...sigh. Happy New Year, buddy! May all your garden dreams come true in 2017!

I plant some cabbage seeds from the 5 of October only two of them started to fold and the rest of them is bush can you say why am from Jamaica it is just a small back yard garden
