Not a big reader these days but The Women was the era I grew up in, as you stated vivid, moving and keeps you reading page after page, I appreciate the men and women who served so much more, brings back memories!

I read The Women and loved it for many reasons. One, as a nurse myself, the medical stuff was well researched and very realistic. Two- Kristin Hannah didn't sugarcoat life in Vietnam - it was tough!! I have a female friend who is a Vietnam era Vet and she said that she thought the book was done in a very realistic manner, from the recreation scenes to the response at home. Excellent read!

Thanks Elle! I’m reading a great book from The British Library Crime Classics called The Widow of Bath. It’s very well written and seems much more modern than it actually is. It was published in the early 1950s. It’s not a big read at around 4 hours on Kindle, but I love the twistiness of it. Blessings to you and Mark x

I look forward to all your suggestions. I have just listened to two Liane Moriarty books. I have enjoyed the following biographies: Jessica Simpson, Barbra Streisand, Matthew Perry, and Brian Cranston. It is so interesting to hear how a person’s life unfolds. Cheers.

As always some great books to consider, thanks for sharing, Elle 🙂 I've just purchased God's Smuggler....I seem to prefer fact based books right now. I can't think of anything offhand that I've read recently that's worth recommending but thank you for yours ♥

Just finished Lisa Scottoline's "Rossatto & DiNunzo" series 👍
It's a fast, fun crime fiction read based on top all-female Philadelphia (we leave on the outskirts☺) law firm and its criminal cases.
Humor, great dialog, suspense and a love story. I enjoyed it!

Awesome group of books! We read the Women for Sharon McMahon’s book club and Kristin Hannah spoke to the group. Can you believe that she writes all of her book long hand on a legal pad? She is a fascinating person. Highly recommend if she comes to your area make a point of seeing her. I am excited to hear which biographies you read. I want some to check out. I did listen to Surrender by Bono before I saw U2 at the Sphere last year. It is a good one and his voice in the audio made it better for me. Thx for the shout out. ❤

I'm so glad you read God's Smuggler. It's a book filled with miracles and will strengthen one's faith to see how God directed Brother Andrew's life. It's also a very sobering book regarding WW2 and also the difficulty of being a believer behind the iron curtain.
