Actually there is not physical heaven in Hinduism.
Getting into heaven means be "Mukt"
Mukti is the thing all Hindu want it means to become part of this Everything.

A point you forgot to mention is when yudhistir reaches heaven he was shocked to see that every kaurva was already in heaven (without going to hell) and when he asked the same he came to know that the battlefield of kurukshetra was blessed so that if any person who would die there doing his/her karma would be sent directly to heaven bypassing the hell.
