Stripping and repairing a brand new knife set that is scamming customers all over the world. Before you get upset, I understand that not ALL of these Damascus knife sets are poor quality trash. I'm sure there are some great sets out there. However, this scenario is happening as evidenced by my clientele.

One thing to be cautious with regarding these type of knife sets is that they’re often made of whatever scrap metal the makers find, this means that they often contain metals like lead or other metals that can be harmful to our bodies so we no longer sharpen or restore knives from Pakistan in our shop..

You have a very cute little girlie! I’m very happy to know you respect your family and spend time with them. Too many daddies are not involved enough with their babies. Much respect to you brother!👍🏻👍🏻

Well, you've really saved me with this video. Someone gave me an Etsy giftcard, and I wound up looking at "hand made Damascus steel" knives. Now I don't know a whole lot about knives, but I've owned a few good one, and I do know you don't typically see such a good looking knife for 50-60 bucks. Kept thinking, "wow 70% off?" Too good to be true. After some research I now believe that most of them are Pakistani made knives cheaply imported into Canada to be resold.

Hello from Cape Breton btw.

I worked at a deli when I was young and the guy who came in to sharpen the kitchen knives every week destroyed my cold steel ti-lite. Completely rounded the tip off into a butter knife. He was a real "professional".

One good knife is better than 6 junk ones.

Good advice Kyle, and good job trying to salvage that catastrophe.... If the offer looks too good to be true it probably isn't... Remember, you often get what you pay for, if you want quality you're going to have to pay for it.... 'Buy once, cry once' they may cost more in the beginning but you'll be glad in the long

The roll looks decent and I could see something like that being worth $40, but the knives look like something I might make myself and not be completely happy with.

Excellent guidance. I had no idea about the great gap filling products! I still like to give wooden handles a penetrating oil finish such as teak oil.
I can buff away most of the surface finish, but having the wood pores filled makes the wood age slower, especially if the handles get wet.

The old adage of You Get What You Pay For... has never been truer. Doubt the edge will hold up on these knives. Hopefully your client knows how to sharpen.

I bought the same knives from eBay, immediately sent them back for a refund after unpacking them. Terrible quality and definitely a grift.

Don't buy anything off the 'net, or anything at all for that matter, without doing a simple search online first. Otherwise it's nobodys fault but your own.

I'm reminded of a time we were practicing music at my buddies place. His daughters brought us fresh baked cookies.
Best time ever!
Take care Kyle

When one Damascus knife starts at $300 for a single. A set should be expensive.

But it's interesting if the steel is decent and one can clean them up and sharpen them properly and end up with decent knives. Not a bad deal!

Kyle, your work is top notch, my problem I have with this repair is your customer will have great looking knifes and if they have guests see them, they may think that the original company did all that detail work and try and buy some themselves only to be disappointed. .
