Baton Rouge Louisiana.
The Horace Wilkinson bridge carries 6 lanes of interstate 10 traffic across the Mississippi river within Louisiana.

Built in 1968 it's the highest bridge that crosses the Mississippi river.

Note the two large ships in the river on the right.
I wonder what cargo their carrying?
Whats the crew like?
Where do they call home?

2018 is my 12th year on YouTube with this very channel.
Thank you all. Jevin

The "Bridge of death" dangerous when there is traffic of even a moderate level. Also the only place where I-10 narrows to one lane in the US. The "Washington St." exit debacle.

Looks like most of you folks did not read the description very well. This is indeed the highest bridge on the entire Mississippi River by clearance below, at 175 feet. The Creacent City Connection bridges in New Orleans and the Sunshine Bridge in Donaldsonville are second at 170 feet of clearance. There are numerous bridges with much greater heights above water or valleys as the case may be but few of them go from near water level to the top and back down. Those would be the Verrazano Bridge in NYC, and the Golden Gate and SanFracisco-Oakland Bay Bridges, all between 220 to 236 feet above water at mid-span, and all rising from nearly equal with the water level as opposed to a level viaduct crossing a canyon, valley or gorge.

This bridge is prone to accidents and when traveling eb from lafayette to NOLA i have to take the old Huey p on the 190 just north of this bridge

I-10 is in bad shape all thur Louisiana and 80% of the bridges in the U.S are outdated but our politicians play the blame game instead of finding common ground and we the people are to blame..The I-40 Memphis bridge had to be shut down Due to a crack in main structure beam the Sherman Minton over the Ohio River in Louisville had be shut down what’s it going to take to get these bridges up to date? I know it’s gonna take a disaster happening.. We used to give our old bridges to 3rd World countries when we’d update them not anymore we don’t update til they fall
