This would explain Sandrone's letter at the end of the "Questioning Melusine and Answering Machine" questline. Apparently, once Sandrone found out that the guy she hired for the job almost killed the traveler, she punished him by cutting his tongue out and stuffing a message in there. She wanted to "make amends to the traveler".
Why would Sandrone be so friendly to us? Well, if she is Alain, then not only did we save Fontaine, his homeland, but we also showed the biggest middle finger to Rene and Jakob as well as saved Lyris/MaryAnn during the Narzissenkreuz questline.

This would definitely earn us a "you're based" status in Sandrones book, making her another harbringer that is friendly to the traveler.

i just did all those quests and damn to hear you put the stories together like that is just awesome, i think youre right, thats why i follow minsleif, great lore info that can be sometimes hard to peace together since is not voice acted its harder to retain all the info compared to if it were read and heard, thank you

This entire quest series was literally the only quest I could not fucking understand 😭 I skipped through some of the Aranara quest and I could still make sense of what's happening but with this quest 😭 I literally read EVERY line every note that I could find and talked to NPCs yet I had no idea wtf was going on 😭

Could be, considering how important Alain is, like..we see the mention of Alain in every quest of Fontaine just like Mary Ann. But we were able to tie the loose ends of her story, along with Rene, Carter, etc by the end of Narcissenkreuz quest..but not Alain. I dont think that Robot has perfect conscience of Alain, but more like only his "will to protect" part, while Sandronne is the perfected humanoid Clockwork mecha that Alain modeled after his own sister(remember that it was Alain who invented Pneumousia annihilation based energy sources for clockwork mecha). Maybe in seclusion he managed to create a perfected clockwork mecha.
