Gods don't die but their soul separates from their body(husk). It's always a consistent ability of TEYVAT Gods. The memories of dust is a part of herself, her memories. I think Guizhong secretly invented a puppet of herself and maybe the Fatui managed to snatch this puppet and recruited it to become a Harbinger. Remember, her name is Sandrone, the Marionette. And Marionette is a puppet that is "Controlled"

I think it's really interesting that none of the Adepti actually saw Guizhong "dying". They just found her "body", and the experience with Rex Lapis should've taught us all how reliable that is as evidence of someone's demise.

Maybe that fatui harbinger is something humanoid robot like kaythrrne.
They got all of guizhong's memories or knowledge into that puppet (probably knowledge) and gave her a blank personality so Guizhong's memories doesn't cause any problems with ethics and wanting to be with adepti.

They could have achieved this using very advance and forbidden knowledge Dottore has

If katheryne exist I wouldn’t be surprised if Sandrone is a robot created by Guizhong.
Like how Ei crated Scara. Since we know that’s it’s possible to create puppets with their own memories and emotions.
Maybe Guizhong created a assistant to help her with her research. After her death, the robot losed her purpose so wandered and eventually picked up by the Fatui. Still it’s hard to get to a conclusion because we still don’t know much about her yet.

the thing that's interesting here is the word 'soul' which in genshins case can be called dust since every living being in the genshin impact is most likely made from dust or chalk. we get reference of this from albedos story and dialogue plus we even see him use dust to create or transmute lifeforms using khemia hence my theory is that guizhong is actually one of 4 shades of primodial one or one of the 3 moon sisters which can also make her a seelie who knows about the primodial one and that the goddess of flowers and she might be related.

I actually really like this theory. And again, it would give context for Zhongli’s contract with Signora, because that always felt so random. Like, what could the Fatui offer Zhongli that he would even want? If Sandrone is Guizhong, that would explain a lot. I guess we won’t know for sure though until Sandrone appears in game and we learn more about her.

I'm actually not sure if Sandrone is the girl or the robot. If Katherine is a humanoid robot so could be the girl and Sandrone could be the robot holding her.
