-shatter me wasn’t for me 💀 i’m not the target audience and also i DID read the entire series + novellas and still didn’t like it (please stop asking me this lmao)
-the inheritance games wasn’t bad but also i am not the target audience!!
-caraval the first book wasn’t great (in my opinion) but the rest were fine.

and - reading is subjective!! these are just my opinions i’m not hating on y’alls favorite series 😭😭

Caraval is good, but the second and third book are better in my opinion. Also, I’d only read Once Upon A Broken Heart if you’ve read the Caraval series because they’re connected

shatter me is just word soup and fancy formatting to make you miss the really thin plot and disguise any character traits beyond trauma. it‘s hard to read, i don‘t remember if there was any plot at all in this novel except little cursed girl must be saved by big strong man who has a backstory as dark as her own (don‘t come for me if this is wrong, i read this in 2017 when none of you even knew about this stupid book and i remember nothing because the writing was just random strings of letters and words, half of which were crossed out anyway) and i dnf‘d it halfway through the first novel after maybe 200 pages of absolutely no action

I personally think shatter me is 100% worth it but we all have different book tastes <3 For me, Shatter Me got me out of a huge reading slump and was the first book I had actually enjoyed reading in years

I didn't really like Scythe either. I just felt really disconnected from the characters, but it was a cool concept and I get why some people love it.

I love caraval 😭 I think the first book is definitely very plain when compared to the other two. Idk if ur saying the entire series isn’t worth it or js the first one, but imo it def gets better through the trilogy.

Ok I agree with Shatter Me, it’s basically to me at least in the first book romanizing a toxic and red flag relationship, plus the girl I can’t get a read on her. (I did only read the 1st book before DNF)
