The youngest self-made female billionaire in the world wants to give people control over their health information. UPDATE: On March 14, 2018, the Securities and Exchange Commission charged Elizabeth Holmes and Theranos,Inc. with "an elaborate fraud", saying she and Theranos's ex-president had lied for years about the company's technology, and fooled investors into giving Theranos hundreds of millions of dollars. As part of her settlement with the SEC, Holmes will pay a penalty of $500,000, must relinquish majority control of her company, and can not lead a public company for a period of 10 years. The SEC found that Holmes "made numerous false and misleading statements in investor presentations, product demonstrations, and media articles"—and that includes interviews with Glamour.

Thank God this hasn't been taken down. Monuments to irony should be preserved for future generations

Well she’s a great role model for young women that want to get into white collar crime. She’s one of the greatest female con artists of all time

This is such an inspiring story. I just know this company is thriving. I can't wait for the follow up. I'm typing this in my lower voice.

The fact that she still thinks she’s not doing any thing wrong is unbelievable

You can’t fake your way to a science degree. Even though she picked chemical engineering as a major, she doesn’t talk like anyone who actually learned anything about science. I’m glad her professors saw through her. No wonder she dropped out in her sophomore year, she couldn’t make it any further in school.

She begged her professor to let her into their graduate research program when she had only done 1-2 years of undergrad studies? Clearly she doesn’t know how college works.

The fact that she really did something that people thought was impossible - literally scam the whole world

I feel so sorry for everyone who believed in her, and everyone who put time into her fake dream.

No follow up video on her? An update? Current projects she's working on? I mean come on Glamour. 😌

This lady is so inspiring. Where can I invest my live savings into her project?

Only in America could a person start a health-technology company just based on an idea without any knowledge, education or understanding of the subject. And only in America would people be gullible enough to invest in it😂

Notice how she wrote in her diary. She wanted to do something that "mankind didn't know was possible". Hoped to "study" man and his ways. Even then, she saw herself as something beyond human. A demigod, gifting mankind with her presence and genius.

When Glamour magazines start doing stories on science you know you have a problem.

What sucks is that the idea bring theranos is actually pretty amazing. Hopefully a team of people who actually care about healthcare makes something similar and affordable that actually works.

This is what happens, when a society values success at all

How in gods name did a country allow a company to make 1billion without ever proving what they’re selling actually worked. America is truly land of opportunity!

this is a case of the movie getting done before the screenplay is written, and then one realizes it's actually a good screenplay so the movie doesn't need any changes
