One thing viewers might not be aware of is that sports day is typically on a weekend and parents all attend and stay the whole day (or most of the day), either bringing lunch boxes or purchasing them. And they go all out: a bunch of the mothers were complaining about waking up at 5 am to make the lunches, the homemade seat cushions for the students to sit on between events, flags, caps, etc.

Here in BLUDY GREAT BRITAIN we have sports day, where we basically writhe around in mud for 3 hours while only wearing a t-shirt and shorts, also the kid who fell over on the sack race would always win an award istg bro 💀

Ahh I remembered my sweet highschool years, except the bullying of course I repressed all of that. But yeah I'm not Japanese, but in my school back then if it's the founding day, it's a whole week of just fun, relaxing, and games all week long.

Our teacher used to love joining our fitness classes lol dude was ripped and amazing at everything, made the classes so fun, I’m glad you’re joining your students, that’ll definitely stick with them and you’ll be a favourite forever

Not Japanese but my school had a sports day and teachers were encouraged to compete with/against students, it was fun and its great for teachers to sometimes partake in student activities.
