LS3 S13 First Drive Fuel Problems.....

Trying to figure out the LS3 S13 fuel delivery issue that has been plaguing me for the last week. Installed a new Walbro 450, and a new fuel pressure regulator, only to suffer from the same issue.... Any ideas? Thanks for watching guys and have an awesome day!

For everyone saying to check my fuel filter, the pressure regulator that I just replaced also acts as the fuel filter.

you know what you should do is meassure the voltage at the fuel pump on wide open throttle. Could be its getting not enough voltage at the fuel pump maybe hardwire the fuel pump and dont have it switched on by the ecu

Check the voltage going to the fuel pump, the positive wire going to the fuel pump in the chassis harness can get weak and give bad voltages. Try wiring the fuel pump off a relay. Love the vids!

I have heard that the stock fuel hard lines (thin metal lines) can restrict the higher flow needed on some stronger LS swaps. Might be something to look into if you havent already ran completely new and bigger lines from the pump.

I can tell your car boogies....I have a Z32 2 + 0, and already bought my crate LS3 EROD, but am saving up funds for an LOJ swap kit. I can't wait to get my car running!

it's most likely that gm regulator/filter, not because its broken but because it's not suitable for this application. the fluctuations in pressure are usually a sign a regulator issues. running out of fuel capacity causes a more constant pressure drop as rpm increases. get a decent fuel pressure regulator, even if it doesn't fix the issue it's worth the investment. it's probably either that or you need a fuel damper. running a relay to the pump is always a good idea, but unlikely to solve this particular problem. hope that helps!

Fuel pressure will drop at higher RPM because of how fast the fuel injectors are firing. The only time it will go up is if you're running a rising rate pressure regulator, which is what is used in boosted applications.

that sounds perfect in every way possible

I thi k the fuel pump could be replaced but I would recommend that u just keep trying to dig and see if u can find anything else wrong with it.

Granted this is from the turbo LS guys, but those dudes tend to stay away from the vette regulators because of pressure issues....

Sweet! I caught one of your videos before it even hit 1k views! Feels good to be early, not that its something special to be early tho :P your content is always great. Keep it coming!

i would definitely start with checking the voltage at the pump under WOT. I rewired my car over last winter because at wot the wiring harness wasn't supplying enough current to keep the fuel pump or the ecu happy and it took me forever to track that problem down. after the rewire i burned up the wiring for the pump on my wiring specialties swap harness because at full tilt my walboro 255 was drawing more current than the 18 gauge wire could supply. After rewiring the pump i now have a constant 60psi at the fuel rail and the pump sounds alot healthier as well.

I would get an external fpr, 10awg power wire for the fuel pump, and new filters

Please keep uploading love your videos they will do better when you stay consistent check your number 8 injector might be the problem sometimes they starve

Filter, just check it to make sure. If not, hardwire the pump and run it off a switch, because racecar.

`Upgrade the fuel pump wiring with a relay straight from the battery, stock fuel pressure wiring is terrible in s13's, id be surprised if you were seeing more than 10volts at the fuel pump.

Switch to external power setup with a relay at the pump

Did you replace the Fuel Filter? Does your car have a voltage gauge to see if you are dropping voltage at WOT?

Did you put a vent tube on the gas tank or did you plug the vent tube. I had fueling issues in my ls swap s13 and that ended being my problem. Whenever I opened the gas cap to fill her up it would suck in a lot of air since the tank wasn’t venting. At first I tho got I didn’t need it because the tank has a vent on the gas filler neck but that one only vents when the gas cap is open. Hopefully it ends up being an easy fix.

May need a racetronics hot wire kit to bump up the fuel pump voltage that it needs to keep up
