Footage filmed by a captured volunteer medic footage has shown the horrors taking place in the Ukrainian city of Mariupol after it was smuggled out in a tampon.

Using a body-worn camera, 53-year-old Yuliia Paievska recorded 256 gigabytes of video, documenting her team's frantic efforts over two weeks to save people from the brink of death.

the girl that lost her parents and brother almost made me cry. Imagine losing your whole family on a single day

The medics, fire fighters and all the first responders are heroes in this war.

I looked up how Yuliia Paievska was doing... she was held captive for 3 months and released in June She is a Ukrainian fashion designer and also a paramedic. I was relieved she was released!!

The little girl. I wonder how she's doing right now. My heart goes out to her and everyone else out there going through all this.

I cannot imagine that little girls world now, losing her mother, father and brother in a day. A day that should have been filled with the love and joy of a family 😢😢😢😢😢

As a Croatian this is a trauma revisited. War is the darkest place, the darkest state of mind and soul. It's all the circles of hell united in one and more. Apalling, shameful, degrading, dehumanizing, horrific beyond words.

Hope she is okay, that's what a Hero does... If not at least the recognition they deserve

I can't imagine having the will to save someone who is a part of causing so much pain & sadness in so many other people's lives. When/if that little girl wakes up, imagine what she will go through for the rest of her life without her family.

Respect for all the first responders. My condolences for the girl and everyone that is affected. May peace will come sooner.

Poor little girl, her entire family - Mother, father, and brother - killed. And some Russians still believe this is not a war. They have eyes, but cannot see. Ears, but hear not. Wake-up already.

I used to joke about this war, but know watching this video has changed my view of the conflict. This just make me think if my little sister which is about to the same age of that little girl in this footage, this makes me think if our parents were to pass away and me soon later with no family to go to. This brought tears to my eyes.

U have to be focused, prepared not just physically but also mentally in order to effectively work under this kind of situations and mainly on hight alert when in CZs/Combat Zones, she handled it like a pro. God bless and keep her safe far from PTs.

Very, very brave people the paramedics…they have risked their lives all through this war, dashing in to dodgy places under fire to get wounded individuals out and the safety where there can be treated. They have been trained to save lives, no matter what country the wounded are from.. saving a life is paramount to them, and they have done so continuously, day and night, and many wounded have survived, only due to the diligence and determination of these brave Angels. I pray that the Russians take all that on board and do NOT lock them up or treat them harshly. Please allow them to continue doing what they do best…saving precious lives. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏💕👏🏻👏🏻

I took paramedic courses when I was in the army. I was an ambulance driver of sorts. I have only practiced on war injuries. I almost cant imagine how it must be to actually deal with it. Even just preparing for it was quite challenging.

She is a good, strong, awesome medic, and one beautiful woman.
I’m glad that has been released and I hope she’s doing well.

She is an absolute hero. My heart weeps for the little boy who passed but at least he is with his mom and dad now. I hope his sister made it 🙏
