Finding a safe space when gunfire erupts. That's the reality for some people living on Minneapolis' northside. WCCO's Reg Chapman met up with one woman who took a pretty extreme measure to feel safe as she lays her head to sleep at night.

I was glad to have left Minneapolis 13 years ago. It was already getting bad but now? When you need that kind of reinforcement to sleep at night, time to go. If you don’t feel safe, you’re not safe.

Better to move out then to try to stay and wait for this situation to change for the better.☹️

You might as well just start adding more panels maybe even use it for sheetrock

That’s really sad that residents have to go to that extreme, in terms of making your walks bullet proof. When the gun violence gets that bad, that’s when it’s time to move.

A lot of people from other Cities are moving to Minneapolis. It has not always been this way. It is the people coming from places like Chicago who are bringing the same mentality from those Cities with them. If you are not going to hire enough Police officers then give law abiding Citizens the tools they need to protect their loved ones.

Did they test the panel how can she be certain that it'll stop a bullet

Install? It’s seems as though it was just slid between the wall and headboard 🚬. I hope she’s safe but that doesn’t look reasonable

If that court order was for a citizen to comply with, the court would give a very small window of time to comply .

Several people are blaming the democrats. Why? The police are short officers for at least two reasons: The shortage of workers across the services, and the shooting deaths of citizens who didn't deserve to die by the police. There are more reasons, but I argue those are the top two. We have been warned for years and years that the work force was shrinking. We added a pandemic that took out many more with people dying or retiring early. The two reasons I listed have nothing to do with politics. A large segment of the population has no respect for law enforcement, so they are not going into the profession. It is easy to blame one political party, but that will not come close to solving this issue. Maybe you don't want to solve the issue but point fingers.
