A therapist once told me: “You don’t know what it’s like to be on the other side of you.” So very true.

It's not that the majority of Americans, if asked wouldn't say that they do believe in freedom of religion. But I think it's in the details of that freedom that the disagreement, when it occurs, is divisive.

Great Piece ! It seems maybe to iron out these misconceptions we need to have more discussions either around the kitchen or dining room tables with our neighbors, friends, family and even a stranger or two

One of the best things I have ever done for my mental health is stop watching ANY kind of media from conservatives. They make it look like the world is going to end when a Democrat is in power, but that everything is heavenly when they are in office. Reality doesn't just change like that.

Most people are in the center but yet we consistently have to hear the extremist on tv since that gets views and sells. It actually has become so normalized it is boring

This is similar to how i feel about black bears where i live, everyone sounds so scared but noone has been killed by one since 1943 here.. im more worried about rabid stuff like coyotes or whatever, but everyone always says "arnt you worried about bears"? Maybe for my trash cans..

I don't understand getting worked up about politics. Most politicians can't relate to what average people experience. No one seems to have the answer to lowering healthcare costs or home prices.

The problem is there is no “Left” only center-right Dems and far-right Republicans. Be Pro-Union, Pro-Cooperative, and Pro-Worker!

We are told that America is divided beyond repair and we must take a stand against each other.
But we are more united than you think.
88% of Americans believe that forces in politics and the media are trying to pit us against each other – and it needs to stop.
When we truly look at each other, it is clear that most of us care about the same things.
We care about our communities, families and building a nation that not only tolerates, but respects differences.
If you think it's time to unite around an America with deep character,
Let’s stand as one
