Starlink Unboxing, Initial Setup, and Speed Test

Just received my StarLink satellite internet in the mail today so I decided to set it up and see what speed it gets compared to my current internet provider.

Phone to router is a local network speed test, nothing to do with satellite performance. Useful to know for things like NAS or LAN metrics only. Has more to do with WiFi 5/6 and 2/5/6 ghz protocol. Also don’t use gigabit and gigabyte interchangeably. Very different things.

Awesome video man! I can’t wait to get mine setup and tested. If it works as good as I’m hoping I’m going to drop the $1k a month plan I have now for 4 1gb(I’ve never got anywhere near that speed) fiber drops and just get 3 more of these!

I just got my order confirmation today. How long did it take for yours to ship once it was confirmed? And I currently have Verizon dsl, $100 per month and my speed is 1mbps!

You misunderstood the speed between phone and router. Nothing to do with your internet speed
It's just how fast your phone can talk to the router. You could do that test with the dish facing the floor.

I think Spectrum is better than Starlink. You just ned to upgrade your Router to wifi 6 or mesh
