Which NEW 4WD wagon is the best bang for buck? We've got the latest Toyota Fortuna, Prado, 200 & 300 series, the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and Isuzu's MU-X pitted against each other!

Our mate Rob from Ultimate Diesel Tuning gives us a run down on the different engines & transmissions available in these 4WDs and tells us what they're best suited to.

yes 100% would love to see all them vehicles tested back to back in offroad conditions, towing, fuel economy etc. Keep them coming, I'm surprised you guys haven't hit 1mil subscriber yet. Prob the best car advice, camping/4wdriving channel in YouTube :)

You can't not have the y62 patrol in there guys! And yea I love those proper tests you do.

Finally a big channel giving the Pajero Sport the love it deserves! Can vouch for mine, 2018 GLS with 120k kms now, haven't had any issues yet! I'd recommend giving it a go off road (you could use mine if you want ;) ), the superselect mitsubishi gearbox is so impressive off road, paired with a stock rear locker in GLS & Exceed trim levels. Its so light that it sits on top of the surface & flexes decently in stock form. Throw some good tires on it and its pretty damn capable. Thanks again for giving it the respect it deserves!

Love to see the Next Gen Everest in there with the V6 and A/T tyre package.

Should do the NX Pajero. Sure they stopped production in 2021, but like the Triton they are an absolute steal second hand. My base model 2021 Pajero came with rear diff lock. I’ve added a 2” lift, a bullbar and winch… surprised quite a few people with how far you can push it off-road.

Would love to see a video on a REAL Mitsubishi Pajero, the Gen 4. Such a shame they stopped production on them.

2017 Everest with 140k on the OD. Been up and down the eastern seaboard with trailer in tow with no issues. The thing loves to run long distance and does it in comfort. Albiet we know this channel is pro Toyota but I have to say I've had no issues with the Everest and it still feels strong and tight. Also, the Everest has no class-action lawsuit filed against them unlike Toyota.

Would have been great to have the y62 patrol in the segment as well. When we talk about 4wd wagons, Landcrusier & Patrol are on the top of the food chain imo. Bet Graham would have been disappointed also lol 😂

Would be awesome seeing a proper off-road test on these, gotta see how they go compared to each other

I would say the Prado is the best all round pick for sure.

I can recommend the Pajero Sport. I have a 2016 GLS with the standard rear diff lockers, haven't found anything it couldn't handle yet. I got it for $35k used with 50k KM on the clock in early 2020. My only advice buying used is to check if it's had it's 60k KM service, as that's a big one $ wise with the valve timing. Put the money you save from badge premiums into your camper or setup!

100% need to test them back to back. But need to include the Y62, New Land Rover Defender and maybe even the new Jeep Grand Cherokee and Wrangler.

If you are going to test the wagons, you may as well test them all!

Considering the Y62 is arguably the best tow vehicle on the market today it’s crazy they didn’t include it.

Absolutely test them all off road, give them all a proper crack. Maybe throw in a Defender 110 if there's going to be a 300 series too, both are similar price and capability

Yes, a true off road test of all the vehicles including the new Fortuner. Not concerned about on road handling but how these go in sand, rocks and steep terrain. Bring in on!!

I got myself a paj sport, the price was unbeatable for its capabilities and reliability. Slowly rigging it up with mods. Would be great to see a comparison of stock features like suspension, tyres, clearance and roof load ratings and how mods can improve them.

It’s worth noting that the Prado is still built in Japan while the Hilux and Fortuna are built in Thailand

Off road comparison is a must. I love our Pajero Sport and rate it off road in stock form.

I think an off road test sounds like a great idea to really show their capabilities.
Personally I think the 200 series and Ford Ranger are my pick if I was buying a new 4wd 😎👍

Well that’s a bit of a tease, as if we don’t want to see these wagons in a full on off-road test!
As usual, great vid guys.
